Jakemoore Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 The best thing is - in most peoples opinions, Sevilla are actually a better side than Monaco which eliminates the argument about us having the easier route through. We earned it. Man City didn't.
fuchsntf Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Now Claudio has gone,we are nearly an English team...ooops. Danishenglishjamiacaaustriangermanalgerianenglishjapaneseenglishnigerianenglish.... manager, well known scribe for writing new paragraphs, oh the farce, the drama, the romance, the fairytale...

Man City didn't. touch wood but i think our defence would be able to cope with monaco's attack much better than man city could. whether that's us sitting deep with two banks of four or playing a high press, we are better equipped to deal with monaco's attack than man city.

We wouldn't be trying to defend a free kick by lining up on on the halfway line for start.

Oh i would snap your arm off if you offered me Monaco next. I think French football is in a sorry state if Monaco is their best team (granted they'll say the same about us) but I genuinely think over two legs we would beat them. They go missing in game and switch off which we don't. We would work harder too.
Thracian Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Haha it is remarkable to think that we can still sing "Best Brits in Europe" even when we lose the Premiership title. Won't Spurs and Arsenal just love that! I really hope this is a springboard for more and we'll look at those names in the quarter-finals and show ourselves determined to join them again and again. Why should we get intimidated? Over these last two season we've beaten so many top teams and some that used to be illustrious names in Europe and even champions. We can help ourselves by continuing to make the King Power a formidable place for opponents to come. Our owners have been tremendous in helping foster such a spirit and the fans banners yesterday were as individual as they were awesome. What a place our ground was to be last night. Surely up there among the most atmospherically charged and stirring venues in the world. The key now is to maintain the momentum and start acknowledging ourselves among the best instead of almost apologising for being there. Several times over the years I've said we should forget other people and set our own standards. Well, we've done that in various ways and many times since our new owners took over and there's no need to stop now. We really do have a club to be proud of and it's up to all of us to help and encourage ever more attention to detail and ever more improvement Let's keep making our story both spectacular and unique. Let's present, play and promote football like we love it and let's keep turning dreams into reality. The Great Escape, The Premiership Title, Last British team in the Champion League why should it end there? Lets feed those "dogs of war" on atmosphere and the incredible emotions of success and the standards we set for others to follow. And let's make it a real privilege to wear the shirt.
FoyleFox Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 I hope I'm not the only one looking at that last 8 and simultaneously crying with laughter and shaking my head in disbelief. Throw in a massive amount of pride too

StriderHiryu Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Even if we get smashed in the next round we still legitimately got further than any other English team. Fact. Another incredible thing to consider is this. Our starting lineup yesterday was actually £14m cheaper than our title winning team due to the sale of Kante and only increased when Slimani came on.

foxy boxing Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Its unbelievable we are the best English club side in Europe and we've put Arsenal and Man City to shame
