He's also been tainted by the Ostrich nonsense and I can't help but feel he might find it harder to get respect of people after the press turned him in to a meme.

Yes, but that would most probably mean no instant return. Took him some time to clear up Sven's mess here. He took over Hull after coming down and it was taking time to get rid of all the dead wood.

History has told us as you rightly say that this doesn’t happen with Pearson. He clears out, he rebuilds. This could be what West Brom themselves feel needs to happen? I don’t know. But that was my point. It could well be that they want a manager who can ‘clear the decks’?

The entire bottom half is in danger, they've been almost climbing over each other to try and get relegated. I find most leagues around Europe to be the same format these days. Couple very good teams and a lot of crap. Hoffenheim are no better than us, we're no better than Sevilla who are no better or worse really than Lazio. 1
