Calhanoglu on the verge of signing for AC Milan.

Meanwhile, his teammate Kevin Kampl has said he won't return to Bayer Leverkusen this summer. We do need a CM desperately, and Kampl's got it all.

Didn't we have him on loan in the 90's?

Sky Sports News just did an update thing on Ake and theyve got us linked with him too, as well as Burnemouth and Southampton

I'd like to think that Sky are saying that because of the article I posted in here saying we should be in for him. Of course that's not the reason, but it won't stop me thinking it is.

Valère Germain to Marseille!, absolutely fuming right now! He is like the best okazaki upgrade that I saw out there.

What's starting to bother me is that we were supposedly well advanced with transfer negotiations according to Shakespeare but have so far just one of what I'd think of as major targets.

If any dela was well advanced I'd take that to mean the club has established that the target player wants to come here and the terms he'd accept. After that it would be simply down to agreeing a price with the sellng club who, presumably would already willing to let the player go if their price was met.

Perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps there's a different definition of "negotiations" being "advanced" that I've not understood. Or perhaps Shaky was talking about Maguire and the more minor signings.

I think the headline of that article was misleading (if it's the comments he made, shortly before he got the job)

What I took from that article was that they were well advanced in identifying targets.

You might be on about different comments he made but from the ones I saw, that's what I took from it.

AS Roma are close to signing Dutch right-back Rick Karsdorp.

I'd say we do need competition for Simpson, so it'd be great if we could present a similarly talented full-back ourselves soon.

It's alright, we have 4 CBs that we COULD play there so we wont bother.

Seems very odd that they'd buy him as well as having florenzi and Bruno peres

Florenzi is currently injured. When back to full fitness, he's more likely to play up front on the wing (taking Salah's place) or in the centre.

This Maxi Arnold for Germany looks decent. Dead composed in the middle pulling all the strings. Would be great competition for Drinkwater.

Swansea signing roque mesa for 11m great bit of business for them

Is he any good? Don't know much about him myself but I take it you've watched him or know his qualities?

Deep lying playmaker who loves a tackle reminds me a bit of Kante but better technically, obviously not as dynamic tho, imagine a cazorla Kante mix

This summer window is looking bleak now... Yes I'm aware it's at the start of the window...  I miss not having any real football to watch

at present would take anyone who can kick a ball. it looks like we again have huffed and puffed and are getting no one. would love to know why the hell we can not get business done, its not like we have no funds. unless we get in at least 3-4 new faces we will again be battling the drop.

They may be taking time in order to make sure we get the recruitment right this year as opposed to the joke that was last summer. Harry Maguire is a perfect signing already but I don't care if we make 3 signings on the last day if it means more like him...

Whats the rush?
