Standing in the kop ???

In my opinion I really think it would improve the atmosphere. Every week more and more people are standing towards the back of the kop and I really think UFS are doing a fanstastic job of improving the atmosphere!! What are your thoughts ???

I think that ultimately introducing a 'safe standing' area is the answer...

If the kop was ever going to Stand, it was the Atletico match. Not happening unfortunately.

Won't ever happen.

 

Plenty of other clubs have full standing though look at Stretford End and the Holte End as examples.

I too think that the atmosphere is better when people stand. I think the issue comes with the fact that quite a lot of people at the front of the kop don't want to stand all game or physically can't.

For the first few moments of a European home match this season (can't quite remember which game), the Kop did stand longer than it usually does, everyone around me usually sit straight down on the seats. Thought for a moment noone was going to sit down, to the amazement of me and my mate next to each other. Of course, after the first few moments it was all sat again.

Yeah it happened vs athletico we were standing for abit and then a couple sat so everyone did the same shame as the atmosheare is so much better when standing

I don't understand it really, plenty of teams have thousands who stand, it would really add to the atmosphere. The sooner safe standing is introduced, the better.

I agree totally and think UFS could be the way forward !!!

Because it's next to the away fans. If the KOP was where the family stand was we'd probably have at least double standing than we do now.

I quite like to sit, but in M2 right next to Atlético fans every single person stood. It was amazing.

I thought this was going to be a thread about standing in the old kop  I was wrong but I reminisced for a short while, great days, how I miss pen 2/3

Safe Standing will happen eventually. Hopefully the club will be intelligent about where they put it. If they're really smart they might survey the fanbase about where we want it and how many would want to make use of it.

Too many old duffers and little old ladies in the kop reminiscing about the old days standing in the kop and then realising it's hard work on the old dodgy hips to stand for 90 minutes

Can only happen in the corners at the kp because it wouldn't work on the ends or sides as it would create restricted viewing unless it was a whole stand

This, sadly. If half the end aren't up even for corners for the most important half in our history, they never will be.

And yet our atmosphere is better than nearly all of the clubs who have great areas of standing.

I bet in those areas the atmosphere would be much better look at their away support. It's just diluted with the thousands of tourists in the ground.

Kop wouldn't stand if you put a spike on every seat. As stated previously there was no more standing than usual in the Atletico game.

 

I think ultimately it's because it's got quite a lot of elderly in it.
