you can campaign for fairer rights and equality for other people without having to give all your own shit away in some sort of heroic fashion.

using your status as a celebrity to bring awareness to other people's woes is still a commendable thing to do without having to take your earnings and give them away ffs.

such a bullshit argument lol.

I agree it’s no different to me fund raising or raising awareness of a cause I care about. If people analysed the money I put in over the time and effort to get money out of others I’m sure they might ‘judge’ I could do more.

Support isn’t always about hard cash anyway....

I hate virtue signalling so I won't go into detail but I donate my time rather than money to charity and I can promise anyone it's far more important.

Money can be swallowed up, human effort, contact and time can't be.

And if they did go public on how much they donate to charity/pay in tax, you'd slate them for that because in your view that's the only possible reason why they'd be doing it anyway. They can't win with folks like you.

If they pay more in tax, I am happy for them to do that and tell people about it. Id rather that then constantly hearing them whining on about the rich who don't pay enough tax when errrr they are the rich who supposedly don't pay enough tax. If they feel that way then pay some more set an example.

As I say most of these are the attention seeking twitter/snapchap/Instagram generation anyway, so aren't really that bothered.

But surely if you are a true believer in 'wealth redistribution' it incredibly unfair that a pop star or footballer has much more than a warehouse worker, who infact  works much harder. Its not really a fair world when you have to pay £130 to watch someone play a bit of music.

Its also a bullshit argument that the rich should pay 50-75% of their earnings in tax do we not think? When 20% of £1 million is already a lot more than 20% of 20k!

Buy the very notion of them not giving away their excess earnings they are contributing to this unfair world they claim to be fighting against, a little hypocritical!

Yeah, you've made that quite clear already. Don't worry, you're nice and covered in case of a young left-leaning celebrity publicly announcing the level of their philanthropy and/or taxation. Maybe mention the brand of coffee they drink too for safety?

I am not the one saying the world should be equal because it isn't and never will be.

Its really better admitting that?

Surely if you don't want the rich pop stars to give away all they have earned and they have considerably more than the majority, then you cant really want equality and wealth redistribution.

That is everyone in the world getting the same wage no matter what they do or how talented they are and paying the same tax.

I reckon these rich lefty luvvie Islington bubble celebs should start their wealth distribution crusade by donating straw to you for that man you're always trying to build.

i suspect you're just trying to push some lefty buttons because nobody in here is calling for total wealth redistribution.

nice try.

the likes of lily allen and stormzy are entitled to their money. they worked hard for it (becoming a famous musician ain't no walk in the park) but they're also entitled to bring awareness to homelessness and other issues without having to dig into their own pockets to solve it.

we have a government with money and the ability to sort these ****ing problems if they so wished - we could END homelessness overnight in this country if the government deemed it a big enough issue but they clearly don't.

they're happy to spunk £2m of fireworks into the sky over london on NYE - how many homeless could that pull off the street?

I think you'll find those 'useless hipster lefty youngster celebrities' are trying to bring attention to that kind of wasteful shit and fair ****ing play to them, imo. better than making bank and keeping their mouths shut.

I don't think they have ever been seen criticizing fireworks in London on NYE, either way this is probably a marketing exercise globally, every single country in the world does it. I am pretty sure if we stopped it may lead to lower investment in Britain.

So if Stormzy and Lilly Allen et all shouldn't pay for socialism who should?

We had a deficit, services had to be cut to live within our means, we can not keep borrowing money we don't have. We have a 2 trillion debt and interest payment of £50 billion per year. Either we have to accept we can not afford to pay for some services, or we need to pay more tax.

In Corbyns big socialist future we squeeze the rich until the pips squeak don't we? redistribute wealth, class war etc etc? I thought that's what all the lefties wanted a fairer world. Its not really fair when you have to pay £130 to watch someone sing a song is it? Or is it the good old story of socialism...…...everyone is equal but some are more equal than others?!

I hate the stupid dumb phrase but I am not the one making straw people here, its those banging on about the rich man and the nasty tories etc etc, using silly terms like gammon ffs take about pot/kettles and black.

you're just talking nonsense tbh - I can't remotely figure out where to begin replying to that last post and whether it's even worth replying to in detail in the first place.

and lol, what band have you been squeezed £130 to watch that keeps you going on about it?

then you bla bla bla'd about deficit, living within means, etc. you've absolutely bought into that hook / line / sinker.

trust me, lily allen and stormzy, despite your insistent and somewhat strange hatred towards them aren't the bad guys here, not even close lol.

I  fully concur.

Labour's answer to dealing with the National Debt, would be to borrow money to pay it off. :yesyes:

@Sharpe's Fox is becoming my favourite poster on here.

We actually had a hug as well at half time at the Sevilla game which makes it even better.

May have seen him, was he wearing this by any chance? :P

Fox runs a company and has a few quid. He's selling Osborne's discredited economic lines and banging on about socialists wrecking the world purely to cover the fact he doesn't want to pay a few quid more himself for the greater good. That's all. It's nothing to do with anything else. Not worth responding to it anymore.

Discredited by whom? You?

How are we going to fund the spending?? I am saying that the rich like Stormzy can pay a bit more now if they wish, they could give away large percentages of their wealth if they truely believe in equality. Then some are saying they deserve their wealth and more should be taken from them so who? Are we or are we not talking about equal wealth distribution or are we just talking about taking money off people we are jealous of??!

A few quid you have no idea? but I run a fair business with fair pay and profits. No I can assure you that a Labour government with higher tax, more union power, higher minimum wage etc will cost jobs. I am paying lower corporation tax which allows me to employ and train more people.

It is a fact that if corp tax rises again i will lose the people i employed with the savings. At the end of the day if Lilly Allen and Stormzy are entitled to their loot then so am I.

Again I am not the one advocating wealth redistribution here. Its a dumb idea and an impossible one that will never work. The fact is that we are evolved from apes, as some animals are fitter than others, some humans are fitter, more intelligent, more skilled, more hardworking than others. This is something you fundamentally cant change.

We do the best we can for others because we have compassion but ultimately there is only so much we can do.

If brexit is to work with the conservatives, I think they need to spend and forget the National Debt for the time being. I don’t think they have the ability to see their own shortcomings and having a free spending opposition sat ready and waiting if they fail is no bad thing in my eyes. We need to be radical and take a few chances.

Greece has ceased to become a nation because of the EU. It’s banks, services and companies are all foreign owned. Greece cannot run its economy how it would like because she has been sacrificed on the altar of German industry in the name of the single currency.
