Yeah I watched the game and he was average again. Hands all over players, giving away needless fouls, needless clearances that put us under pressure, poor decision making, gifted them several chances with poor positioning.

But as long as he learns from them right?  Still young?  If managers don't play youngsters or send them out on loan they get stick but then the young lads get too much stick when they do play and maybe make mistakes.  Vital playing time for him, vital experience.  He will improve. X

Of course, said as much in the Gray thread. As I've said a few times, I don't want it to come across as a hatchet job on the lad, his level of performance was on par with most of the others. The OP was in jest, but I don't think he was much more than average last night.

Oh yes, I agree, he certainly made a few mistakes and I know you are a reasonable poster but sometimes this place can go a wee bit OTT (not accusing you) so a bit of perspective is always good. :)

Actually thought the whole makeshift back 4 did well - hardly Amartey's fault Albrighton decided he had no interest in covering Robertson.

Albrighton covered every blade of grass last ngt and it's due to our formation of two in the middle that forces Albrighton inside to help out our 2..

I was very eager to drop Wes for this season, but fair play to him, has performed pretty well in recent games.

I would like to see Drago/Maguire partnership at some point though.

Was impressed with him last night.

Starting to think Shakey won't change formation or tactics unless we lose 7-8 on the trot though, so 3 at the back seems a fantasy at the moment.

If we lose 7-8 on the trot I doubt he'd get the chance to change the formation.

Very true, but that's the extent I think it would take for him to change it. Hopefully I am wrong, as I do think we will always struggle with just two CM's

He'll be gone if he loses 4 on the trot.

That's nice, shame we don't play 3 at the back and show no signs of doing so.

Things may change given the current 4-4-2 'aint working.

Thought he did well as iborra did in second half but where was amarty playing in first half we are crying out for another right back in January

He was constantly getting dragged inside by Coutinho. Albrighton should have been covering Robertson overlapping but he tended to stay infield as well. Not Amartey's fault.
