Dan Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 I actually don't mind Talksport at times, there is some blatantly provocative rubbish but scratch beneath that and there is some decent debate on there every now and then.

Everyone already knows that talksport isn’t really a serious radio station and the whole point of it is to talk shite, bit like at the Football, and most Football forums.
Corky Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 "Unsworth is too big, doesn't look like a manager, overweight" "Who else would you want?" "Big Sam".
Izzy Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 Unsworth has got a few more pies to eat until he reaches Steve Bruce status
Finnegan Posted 31 October 2017 Posted 31 October 2017 Barton is just a thick **** that has googled a few quotes from Nietzsche and let it get to his head. I worry about anyone who thinks he's actually intelligent or insightful, it doesn't say much about their own intellect.
kingcarr21 Posted 31 October 2017 Posted 31 October 2017 I listen to Talksport everyday, simply because I don't want to listen to the same songs going to and from work everyday. We all know what Joey Barton is about, always been a controversial figure, he was alluding to the fact that some players would see Unsworth tell them that they aren't running enough and think 'are you taking the piss?'. Hence why he said he is too big to be a manager. Don't really understand that logic but I guess he is right in the sense that some players would think like that. Don't forget he is an Evertonian so he is thinking as a fan as well as a presenter/pundit. He just doesn't want Unsworth as manager. Going down the road of calling him overweight and a glorified PE teacher is harsh but I would say that's Joey Barton the Everton fan saying that rather than Joey Barton the pundit. He prob just needs to learn to be a bit more professional when on the radio.

I realised the other day that he'd blocked me on Twitter. The reason being that I questioned why he and Alan Brazil were sending spam emails about co-owning a race horse with them - despite the fact that Quinn had been banned for animal abuse in the past. Haven't listened to the station for a few months now - used to listen most days by virtue of the fact that there was no viable alternative but Five Live or a Football Podcast does the job without having to listen to the radio equivalent of the Daily Star.

Danny Murphy made an interesting point on the show yesterday morning. He made out that Rafa actually did slim down whilst at Liverpool implying that he was told to by the Anfield hierarchy.

His weight clearly didn't matter to Liverpool because they hired him in the first place.

Compared to many professional footballers, Barton is Nietzsche plus Hegel plus Kant. Yeah, actually, he’s a complete and. utter Kant.
sk3since03 Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 I’m all for speaking your mind but Barton just says things to make him feel relevant i think
ALC Fox Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 I listened to the game on TalkSport and couldn't help but notice that every so often Sam Matterface was quoting live odds from Sky Bet (I think) for the game. Must have been a tad awkward with Joey Barton sat next to him!
