Can anyone recommend a good pre match pub close to the station? No more than 5mins walk pls.

Marquis Wellington probably your best bet if that's your criteria.

There aren't any anymore.

Worst drinking scene in any city of it's size by far.

As above the MOW probably the only viable option.

Any pub recommendations for Kettering. Off to their game vs St Ives on Monday. Beer was superb in their club house last time, pot belly brewing or something like that. But would be nice to have somewhere in the town centre too.

Been meaning to visit the The Tom Hoskins for years.

The brewery and their pubs have an interesting history, were bought out and far more prominent for a while.

Incredible it's still sitting there. The landlord is a scruffy Tim Robbins look-alike but give him his due, he's fought hard to keep it going.

The old brewery building is a wreck now. Does really well when City are on the telly

The Castle Inn near DMU looks really good.

Didn't realise it had become a pub. Always felt Castle Walk was underutilized - one of the best parts of the city IMO.

Will deffo check out next time I'm in town.

Yep.

Surprisingly large capacity with the outdoor seating and (new) upstairs bit compared to last time.

Similar to Wyggeston house, those two should be a good foil for each other.

I hope the Castle Inn is managed well and it does not became an issue for an area of such heritage significance. And on the contrary it could mean more people enjoy the area, that is unbelievably not known Leicester wide! A while back steamin Billy didn’t get planning permission for a pub in the same building,  which is a shame considering they now don’t have a pub in the city.

Same people own the White Hart in Loughborough. I have been there but can't remember what it's like.
