Your last Pint?

Going to Birmingham early December Covid permitting, anyone got any bar recommendations for craft beer?

There is one next to the Wellington which serves decent beers when I was last there, can’t remember what it’s called though.

Had a few good'uns in Norfolk. Standard pints of Woodforde's Wherry obviously, but the Red Lion in Cromer had the best choice of all the places we visited. Standouts were Larcons Legacy, Grain ThreeOneSix and Steam Lager.

Also picked up some bottles from a shop called the Giddy Goat in Sheringham which specialises in breweries from across Norfolk. Will report back on them in due course.

Off work tomorrow so just chilling with a few tins of Hop House.

Depending on where's open mate - Pint Shop is great in the centre, think you'll love it. 1000 Trades is in the Jewellery Quarter but I love it there too, though it's not got a huge range of stuff I love it for a pint.

The gaff in Brum I think will be bang up your street though is Kilder.

Pint Shop is sadly gone. Closed down, first casualty of the Covid 19 in Brum.

Kilder is closed as well alongside Original Patty Men currently.

Really dependent what neck of the woods you want to visit. Personal favourite is the Wolf, sort of in between the JQ and the city. Nearby the Indian Brewery which is a decent place.

Tilt, The Colmore, Pure (Purity with a few additions) are your best bets for solely craft in the centre.

It can be worth heading to the JQ, Digbeth or even Stirchley Beer Mile (which can be done via train).

WHAT.

Never been sold on Tilt personally, always found it smells like Megazone and you invariably have to walk past someone shooting up outside.

Yeah ironically I occasionally do work for the building owners and Pint Shop used a break in the lease.

Tilt I actually prefer having a coffee at lunch with its decent tune but I can’t quite get into see a bar. However it is one of the craft selections in the city centre.

Knowing Una for his life of Belgian bits. Take a look at cork and Cage in stirchley. Train to Bournville, head down to Pershore Road. There’s three breweries nearby (Glass House, Attic and Birmingham Brewing). Wildcat Tap. Bournebrook Inn. Cork and Cage, love a sour or gueze.

There’s also a cracking Vietnamese food place and Tiger Bites Pig have moved a second restaurant there. There’s also the British Oak, decent pub but not much to offer in beer

I was a fan of the pint shop, what a shame
