Tipped Argentina to finally come good before it all started.

 

But you deserve everything you get if you are bullied into not even picking one of the best strikers in Europe in your final squad.

I get why you hate them when you're English, totally. Fair play. 

 

But as a neutral, I have to say its kinda gauling seeing probably the best player in the history of the sport wasted by a sequence of ****ing inept Argentina managers. 

 

I don't really buy in to the comparisons to Maradona winning it alone. People talk about him being in an average team, Messi is in a generation of some of the best attacking talent any country has ever had and there's more coming in behind him. 

 

You've got Di Maria, Messi, Higuain, Aguero, Pastore followed up by Icardi, Dybala, Pavon, Cervi, Salvio, I'm probably missing stacks. 

 

It's disgusting. Players that would walk in to any team in the world. 

 

They're just an absolute, chaotic, disorganised, demotivated mess. Maradona might have had an average team around him but he HAD a team around. Messi has a bunch of loners. 

 

Genuinely sad.
