Glad they are almost all out of there. I would have lost my marbles down there a long time ago so props to the lads.

I wonder how long until there is a film about this. I bet by Christnmas.

Amazing. They are out. I think there may be one or two rescuers still to get out but hopefully all is now well.

There was talk on the radio this morning that someone had offered to fly them to Moscow for the World Cup Final but the doctors say it is too soon for them to travel.

Would reply to this but I'm feeling lazy right now so see comments on last page re ego and actually doing something.

When did society become so weird that we see a story like this and hope it ends with them coming to Leicester to watch football? What a strange world we live in. I'd imagine that's the last thing on anyone's mind at the minute.

Delighted they have been rescued, the guy who died trying to save them is a genuine hero. I hope his family take some solice in the fact he died doing something extremely selfless and important.

I don’t get that either.

sure they would prefer the cash equivalent.

“Boy gets bitten by cobra”

bring him to Leicester.

Amazing story apart from the heroic rescuer that died.

Really don’t think I would have coped at all. Some of my worst fears all in one( including food deprivation)

It's like FIFA and now Manchester United offering to fly them over to games etc.

The gesture is brilliant, it's lovely for the boys.

But why the need to scream it so publicly? Just shamelessly trying to boost the profile of Manchester United and sell more merchandise in Thailand. I'd rather our owners not do it or at least, if they do, do it quietly as a reward for bravery and not just as a means to sell their own brand.

All of this said, ****ing stoked they got them all out. I'm almost never emotionally influenced by news stories but I was ridiculously choked up watching this unfold over the last few days. Really happy to see it end well.

That’s pretty much my problem with our good friend  Elon

Bet the cave and area is a right mess, wonder if anyone goes back to clear it all up

Probably not until the dry season.

A British cave diver who helped rescue 12 Thai boys from deep within a cave has said he is considering suing tech entrepreneur Elon Musk.
In now-deleted tweets, Mr Musk had called Vern Unsworth a "pedo guy" after the cave expert ridiculed a mini-submarine built by the Tesla CEO for the rescue effort as a "PR stunt".
Mr Unsworth told reporters on Monday that he was considering legal action.
"It's not finished," he told Australian network Channel 7.
Thailand-based Mr Unsworth's knowledge of the cave complex is said to have played a key role in the rescue effort. He travelled into the caves in the first days after the boys went missing and helped bring in top international cave rescue experts for the mission.
Mr Unsworth had earlier said that the mini-sub built by Mr Musk's team and flown to Thailand before being rejected as inappropriate for the rescue mission by Thai officials would have had "absolutely no chance of working".
Elon Musk, who regularly takes on journalists and other critics on Twitter, on Sunday tweeted a response to Mr Unsworth, without using his name but calling him a "British expat guy who lives in Thailand".

He said he would make a video showing the mini-sub making it deep inside the cave "no problemo", adding: "Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it".
Musk later doubled-down on his statement when challenged.
He later deleted the tweets - which were sent to his more than 22 million followers - and is yet to publicly respond to the outcry.
"Yes," Mr Unsworth said when asked if he would consider legal action.
Last week, as the rescue effort was under way, Mr Musk hit out at the Thai official in charge of the mission's command centre, Narongsak Osotthanakorn, after he said the mini-sub was "not practical with our mission", though it was "technologically sophisticated".
Mr Musk responded by saying Mr Osotthanakorn had been "described inaccurately as 'rescue chief' and was "not the subject matter expert".
He also tweeted an earlier email from Richard Stanton - one of two British caving experts called in to front the rescue - who had urged the business leader to build the capsule as quickly as possible.
Mr Unsworth told the AFP news agency that he would make a decision on whether he takes legal action against Mr Musk after flying back to the UK this week.
"I have a lot of support from people around the world astonished by his unfounded comments," he told the Guardian.

So yes, it turns out that Elon Musk is a vile, self promoting, preening little twat after all.

What a disgusting exchange, just because a guy says his invention was a bit unnecessary.

Sigh.

Yet another reason why putting the rich and influential on a pedestal isn't a good idea - even if some of the stuff they're doing is good necessary progress.

Just a good example of someone's work =/= them.

His work might be great for humanity and the planet but it doesn't mean he can't be a bellend.

I quite like his carefree, informal social media presence normally. But he's just outted himself as a nasty, ill spirited **** there tbf.

It's not "sticking it to the man", it's the man sticking it to some genuinely heroic people going about their business.

Or in Elon Musk fan terms - he's not Tony Stark, he's Justin Hanmer.

Plenty of rich and influential on a pedestal do it very well, Bill Gates, Carlos Slim, Warren Buffett, lots of them. The difference is they don't go around insulting people because they get upset, let alone to the point of calling someone a peadophile.

It's nothing to do with him being rich or influential, we now know Musk would be just as much of a twat if he was poor and insignificant.

Yeah, that's about the size of it. Or even Lex Luthor rather than Justin Hammer, if you will. Just needs the bonehead cut.

People who are rich and influential are more likely to be put on that pedestal that they don't deserve, though, which was my point. Average Joe calls someone a paedo on Twitter and next to no one knows about it, even though they've been equally dickish as Musk.

I'd agree that the quieter ones that tend to stay off social media for the most part (like the ones you mentioned) tend to go about their business a bit better...and that's probably also a judgement on social media itself tbh.

I think they plan on turning it into a type of Museum detailing all the events as they unfolded...

Surely he's bright enough to realise he's going to be judged? He's tweeting to 22million people.

Let's not beat around the bush here, with no evidence at all he called someone who played a vital role in the rescue of these children a peado, the guy is clearly a Grade A cnut.

Absolutely. Total weapon.

Stupid total weapon, at that.

Why did unsworth tell him to stick it? Musk was trying to help and his submarine may help someone in future or the MK2 might. He could have just thanked him for his contribution but sadly this time it was not required. What would have been wrong with that? Instead he went on a rant and told him to stick it!

I'm not defending Musk, he's a c0cksocket too.

Because he thought he was doing it for self-promotion than for the cause everyone else there was doing it for. Musk obviously didn't really understand the situation either by the sounds of it.

What he "thought" should have stayed in his head if he had any decency. Him and Musk are both on the same level imo.
