Cave rescue: Who are the 12 boys and their coach trapped in Thailand?

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-44762010

Extract

Captain Duganpet Promtep, 13, is described as a motivator and highly respected by his teammates. He had apparently been scouted by several Thai professional clubs.

Myanmar-born Adul Sam-on, 14, speaks several languages, and was the only team member to be able to communicate with British divers when they were first discovered.

It was 17-year-old Peerapat Sompiangjai's birthday when the group became trapped in the cave. The snacks the boys brought with them to celebrate are likely to have helped them survive their ordeal.

Assistant coach Ekapol Chantawong, 25, was said to be the weakest of the group when they were found, as he reportedly refused to eat any of the food and gave it instead to the boys.

What a delightful story it has been so far, a worldwide positive. (does anyone remember the Whales trapped in ice back in the 80s-90s where the world came together to "rescue" them?).

Can only hope that all of players, coach and rescuers escape safely, and then Top and Vichai get thewm all into the Leicester shirts and into the helicopter to the KP for the first match :)

You mean delightful apart from the death of a man?

Then we put them in a helicopter which can't possibly reach the UK from Thailand and then make them watch a match that Puels in charge of, just in case the cave and the helicopter ride doesn't kill them off beforehand?

At least your way they die in Leicester shirts.

Never underestimate kids or measure them by the lowest.

'Incredibly strong kids'

Ivan Karadzic, one of the divers on the international rescue team, says he is filled with awe at how "incredibly strong" the boys are.

"I cannot understand how cool these small kids are."

A cute cartoon artist has a meaning to reflect on "take the boar home" this time that is a very interesting world-class operation. Admin is here to extend it to the fan page. Thank you for the owner of the idea.

A cartoonist reflects “Operation Bring Wild Boars Home”
(Thanks for a nice drawing)

Keep sharing as you wish. But don't take it to benefit.
PS. For the agency who wants to use the image to make money for the family, sergeant ek cuddle pm. Contact me.

Let's help translate the meaning of the image (if there is a mistake, we have to apologize. I don't think someone will be interested

Elephant (Taro) front foot = Governor (Elephant is a symbol of Chiang Rai province and you are fit to be the milky we seek)
Wild Boar + sister boar = little pig team. All 13 big brother keeps sending sister in the back.
White Horse = everyone who participated in the mission may not be specific (because there are really many). Everyone is a white knight.
Seal = Navy seal
Frog = all water divers
Lion = British rescue team
Kangaroo = Australian rescue team
Panda = Chinese help team
Bird = Japanese rescue team
Deer Moose = Swedish rescue team
Tiger = Myanmar rescue team
Sugar Elephant = Laos Rescue Team (if understand correctly, elephant is a symbolic animal of Laos. If mistake must apologize)
Organic = Rescue team from USA
K9 dog = four rescue team, dog dog
Bird she = the bird's nest team from, island.
Naga = water pumping team
Iron man = Elon Musk
Bird = Media (running against the rescue team). This one, don't misunderstand. Because it doesn't mean the media in the negative meaning, but in the image is to run the garden with the team who wants to run out. The meaning of negative for this image will only have the crow Intent on people who do the media don't feel good.
Crows = the sound of the sun that doesn't want the help team including the team. The boar brought the attention to let go, like the sound of the bird.

To come up with a workable mechanical solution to that problem (even if it isn't needed for this one) and fly it out there in the time he has done...

...perhaps legend is a bit strong but the guy is certainly inspirational.

Think he's mostly doing it for the publicity, Finn?

I reckon that's a pretty large part of it too tbh - it would be fantastic PR for him after all. That being said, I don't see any other super-rich folks who could offer solutions offering any more than thoughts and prayers (and perhaps an anonymous donation or two).

Dudes a bellend, everyday on Twitter he was making out how much he was trying to help and then had a giant metal cock made for the kids to be encapsulated in despite the fact the cave isnt straight enough to be dragged through tight & bendy sections and very, very heavy to carry for 12 hours there & back. He just seems obsessed with making giant shiny metal phallic objects. He has tried to piggy back on a potential tragedy without helping at all, just bothering people trying to save the kids and wasting time.

My engineering is a little rusty (hur hur) but from what I can tell what was made was workable both in terms of weight and size.

As per above, at least he seems to give a shit about what's going on here and come up with some unique solution unlike practically every other big-bucks folk (even if a fair square of it is for the benefit of his own ego, which I'd agree with).

When did society become so weird that we see a story like this and hope it ends with them coming to Leicester to watch football? What a strange world we live in. I'd imagine that's the last thing on anyone's mind at the minute.

Delighted they have been rescued, the guy who died trying to save them is a genuine hero. I hope his family take some solice in the fact he died doing something extremely selfless and important.

I'm really on the fence.

In an unusual twist for me, I'm not really sure what to think.

He didn't have to do anything at all but then showing up on the last day of the rescue when the team seems to have things seemingly in hand with a fairly straight forward solution that's working.

I dunno. Maybe I'm being cynical because he's mega rich and cynicism is my default position but it does feel a bit uncomfortably like self promotion for a man whose company has had a bit of a wobble lately if I understand it correctly?

From what I can tell it took that long to get the thing built and flown out there and yeah, it probably won't be needed.

I'm about as cynical wrt to the mega-rich as you are and I have no doubt a decent chunk of this is to satisfy ego and Tesla hasn't been having a brilliant time of it lately either (SpaceX has, however), but the way I see it he's doing a fair bit more than his peers who are just sitting waiting for their next quarterly statement.

can’t see why anyone would knock elon musk for trying to help?

when he started the ideas/prototypes they were yet to rescue anyone and still a bit stuck on how to do so if it rained any more, so he came up with the solution and inside 3 days had made, tested and flown to the other side of the world with it.

luckily the rain didn’t come and they’ve been able to get most the lads out without the need for his new invention. but it’ll be useful at some stage in the future. remarkable stuff when you think about it.

Some of the volunteers have been incredible, this guy doesn't even have any rescue experience and after hearing the story about the Thai boys he wanted to help out....

reports of all 12 boys out the caves. unbelievable, that.

just the coach to go who was apparently in the worst way because he refused to eat any of the snacks they had to survive for the first 10 days, giving them all to the lads.

I'm not surprised really, he must be feeling guilty as fvck for taking them all down there.

Hope he's not hung, drawn and quartered for his actions. A mate of mine is a scuba diving instructor who's taught in Thailand and he reckons the authorities will come down on him like a ton of bricks for being irresponsible.

The bloke needs support and counselling instead - big time.

Totally agree he is a hero being able to keep them kids alive for the time they were down there.

Yes he probably made a mistake but since then he has been absolute hero.
