Should we really be making jokes about this? There's a very good chance that 11 kids are going to drown after having spent god knows how long in circumstances you can't comprehend. Only a few days of bad rain away from drowning, but they might suffocate in the meantime

It’s absolutely horrific.

This sounds bad,but I’m absolutely fascinated by this story.

The way they were found after so many days, how they survived.

The man power and response, the bravery of all trying to save them.

Every morning I want an update on the news.

Really hope this has a happy ending( not a joke btw)

one thing I don't get is how the hell did they all get 1.5miles in and all of them are still alive and not injured?

From what I can gather I think they only went a short way in and then the caves got flooded and they had no choice but to go from chamber to chamber in search of escape. It's amazing that they're even alive after 10 days let alone uninjured!

This is what I mean I just don't get how they are still all ok as that is one hell of a structure and even if there was no water its an almost impossible route. Its as close to a miracle as I can imagine.

They have been partially successful in draining million and millions of gallons of water out of the tunnel system - Rain expected on sunday. They believe their is now one ( big ) section in the middle where full scuba gear will be needed. The rest, as it stands, will be ' head just above water' kind of stuff.

Rooting for those resucers to figure it all out before Sunday rain comes

Hoping to see a good ending to this. I keep looking for news but it's getting worse.

Without joking, wonder where they have a dump.

When you try and put yourselves in there shoes its still incomprehensible to me. I shed a tear when I heard one of the biys say 'see you tomorrow' imagine a world where everyone thought for others and less about themselves and understood value rather than cost. I dunno where im going with this ive had a few but my heart goes out to them a whole heartedly hope they all make it out alive. The diver that died is a truly selfless man and a true hero.

One love

Weirdly enough that's what I came on here to ask.

I hope they all make it out alive and well. Such an odd situation.

Yep, it’s well known that they operate impressively well in a cave.

Im amazed they're still sane and doing so well, they were in complete darkness for days without food, perched on a rock ledge, drinking from the same water theyve had to pee & poop in. They simply have to get out of there horrible tragedy waiting to happen, everything that can be done needs to be done, then some

You can’t  really imagine it can you, my worst nightmare.

A life threatening example of the need of both physical and mental strength.

You can only imagine they are all in different physical and mental states, so this is going to be an unbelievable task.

Rescue operation - progress update
The head of the Joint Command Centre, Narongsak Osottanakorn, has just released details about the progress of the rescue operation.

He said the operation began at 10 local time (03:00 GMT), when 13 international divers entered the cave.

He said 10 of them headed for Chamber 9 (where the boys are) and Chamber 6 (near the junction) as planned. Another three cave divers joined the operation at 14:00 local time.

There are a number of additional rescue personnel - including divers from Thailand, the US, Australia, China and Europe - stationed from Chamber 3 to the entrance.

This includes a rope system to assist over difficult terrain in Chambers 2 and 3.

Glued to this on Sky News. Looks like another 4 boys are close to being out.

They’ll make a film about this one day...

Great news! Looks like they're all on their way. Hope everyone gets out safely.

I've been reading about cave diving, what a seriously dangerous sport that is, can't imagine anything I'd rather not do.

Taking 2 hours less than planned to get each boy out so a good chance many will be out today.

Brilliant news. This has made my day. At least they know the operation Is successful. Just hope the rainfall doesn't get worse. Just reading about the cave and 'The Choke Spot' looks awful. I've done scuba diving a few times and love it but I cant think of anything worse than squeezing through tight spaces whilst underwater.

Fingers crossed they can get the remaining people out of the cave. What a story. Agree it would make a great film.

Reckon we may see them all at the KP next season as guests of the owners. Would love to clap them all on and off the pitch. What they must be going through mentally. May have some PTSD after this ordeal.
