Finnegan Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 I know they've got injury problems but this is a shit PSG team really. Take Mbappe out and it's hugely uninspiring going forward. United should be winning this comfortably. Shocking that they've got such awful strength in depth with such resources.

Not really, they don't need a deep squad because they can rotate their squad against sides like Guingamp whereas teams from the stronger leagues can't against their equivalents. They're always in the shit with FFP as well because they spunked their available dollar on two players, they're probable mismanaged at the level between the owners and the coaching staff - Man City and Liverpool are outstanding nowadays in part because of Txiki and Michael Edward, doesn't seem that PSG have that nous yet.
StanSP Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 Stupid question earlier from Fletcher to McManaman. 'What would be the ideal result here for Utd?' Hmm, let me think. A loss with a few (away) goals conceded?!

Finnegan Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 It's like half these players don't want to finish the game. I know the ref seems card happy but tbh they've all been justified. Some very stupid fouls here.
Jaspa Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 Any touch with contact is being classed as a foul though, you've got players pirouetting to the floor for having their shoulder brushed and the ref is facilitating this. Its like the World Cup, by rewarding divers and exaggerators you're encouraging dishonest play and it's cringy to watch. I know the Champions League and the players are supposed to be playing at an elite class but the pace of the game is inhuman at times, a tackle off by 0.1 of a second is now a foul, even more so if the recipient of the foul does a double pike twisting somersault to the deck. It's a contact sport
fazzyfox Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 When Vardy was sent off vs Wolves the supposed ruling was that being out of control in your challenge = red......well there's been a couple of those tonight and just a yellow for one. So what is the rule?

It's made cagier by a quarter of the players being on a yellow in the first 30minutes for mostly ordinairy fouls. Also first yellow =/= second yellow as just shown by Young barging dI Maria, the ref's allowing a yuge gray area and players have to work it out game to game
That_Dude Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 Too much fouls in this game. PSG still have the upper hand though. United didn't see much of the ball.
fazzyfox Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 Just one lapse of concentration and PSG will slip a ball in from the edge of the box and be in, it promised a bit more in the first few minutes but Utd relying on pace over sophistication and quality. To be fair there's plenty of movement and effort so it's not exactly awful, just a bit frantic without enough end product. Chances of it ending with 22 players?

Mbappe was in once to be honest, should've scored but messed his first touch up and sliced it wide right infront of the keeper. Man U have looked decent countering though, shame Lingard's gone off
StanSP Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 Young and Kimpembe arguably should have seen 2nd bookings each. Young moreso I'd say. Intentionally goes out to hurt Di Maria, knowing fully well there's a steep slope and bit of danger being pushed further like that.

Regarding Young and Di-Maria, It Was certainly some kind of a-fence.
StanSP Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 How often does that happen The guy who should be sent off scores
Finnegan Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 Gotta be honest, watching this you get the distinct feeling it really doesn't matter anyway. Both of these are just there to make up the numbers. There's no way either are these are in danger of getting anywhere near the final.
That_Dude Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 Lol, ManU can bin the whole back 4 and Matic as well. Ole is being schooled by Tuchel. 0 chances of going through.
Super_horns Posted 12 February 2019 Posted 12 February 2019 Oh dear - only been one team in this half but Man U will say the first scorer could have been off .
