Maguire broke up Spain's attack and drove forward and played a very positive ball - and Neville slagged him off - jealous guy.

Bear in mind - this is a very new Spanish team.

Seem to be pushing Stones a little higher. So now at times the formation is 4-2-2-2(no wingers). Kane not looking confident at all tonight

You can see Spain’s quality in the final third they never had that at the World Cup, Enrique’s more direct approach with their ability to keep the ball is very good. This is a sound test for us, we know we have work to do and this proves just how much.

Shockingly poor defending for their second. It's a good hard game though, those youngsters will learn more from this than some crappy friendly.

tbf i have one friend who doesn’t drink so was obviously sober throughout the world cup and he said we were rubbish for basically the whole tournament, too. everyone else was just too aled in to notice or care.

If Maddison can get his head down and have a good season I reckon there’s definitely a spot for him in this team. Don’t see what Alli brings to the team at all

I like what we have done at times, couple of decent balls in the box that could have led to goals. Enjoyable game all round with both teams really playing to win which is what we want to see

Maddison is too attacking, England need another midfielder apart from Henderson who is deemed good enough to start. We've got Henderson against Busquets, Thiago & Saul Niguez

Maddison I could argue will be what England have been missing for years, very creative and got excellent movement around the box... always looking to pick the ball up and provide. This is what teams like Spain, Germany etc... have. Alli has great ability but he doesn’t have that brain to pick out a pass, he seems to just hit it to the first runner

Exactly. Only problem is - he doesn't play for Spurts (I've got to let it go!)

Waited for a ball that he should have gone to and scored, and had a decent header. Seems to just lack sharpness for England, you expect him to score those when playing for spurs
