So I have this set up and really impressed.

Some questions:

Have you changed the throttle control so that it's the main lever or do you keep it as the default elevator axis control? Just seems to me like it feels the wrong way around??

Also in the controller settings they light up when you hit the button or pull the stick which is handy. Only thing I can't get to light up is the trim control - it says "joystick slider X" but can't get it to light up???

Edit also see the throttle is twisting the stick as well as the buttons on the back of the push pull lever.

I lock the stick twist, so it doesn’t twist. There’s a screw on the side I think.

My throttle control is used for the throttle, if that’s what you mean? I’ve got all of my buttons assigned on it though. I have flaps up and down as the buttons that your left thumb would naturally rest on, aswell as the gear toggle in that region too. The Joystick Slider X is the chunky buttons on the front of the throttle, which I set to control the rudder. There are two buttons on the front of the throttle too which I use to trim up and down.

Not sure if this is of any help, but happy to screenshot my assignments later on 😊

That would be great. Yeah the landing gear is assigned on some button way right out of the way, caused me a few problems already!

The only ones I've changed so far are -

There's something you can do to the hat switch image.png.49457f54b9caac26556d54f215b7b699.png to give more of a free look around the cockpit, instead of having to use the mouse to look around. I'll try and find the link later on.

Well I took the plunge and brought it on Steam. Downloading on my son's laptop now. It meets the minimum specs so hopefully it will be ok. Just a stopgap really until I can get a "proper" gaming PC later in the year.

Probably need to get a controller too. Just checked Argos and they have one in stock at the Scunthorpe store, but I'm not that desperate - even though I've probably got time to drive to Scunthorpe and back before it downloads!

Finally! Liveries are here!

Follow this simple tutorial - Only takes a few minutes and actually works despite my initial skepticism.

They look great too! I am using the easy jet one.

Nice Flight this morning before work.

Simulator is at it's best in my opinion during evening flights.

How are you finding the a320? Getting more used to it?

actually not too bad. Had to go out last night so didn't get a chance to play it but have had a quick go this morning and it seems to be running at an acceptable level.

I'm a terrible pilot though!

Think I need to invest in a controller of some description!

Very much so. First landing left a lot to be desired however i am now starting to become more familiar with the Airbus controls having transitioned from Boeing.

I've been used to flying the commercial planes so much due to X-plane only looking good from high altitude. With FS2020 being so detailed, and with all the land marks and areas to visit, i have spent a lot of time in small planes - Something i never touched in X-Plane.

Helicopters would be great addition however i did struggle to fly them in X-Plane.

It looks incredible and in a year when they've ironed out the issues and all the mod and community stuff has built up it will be sensational

Its a good job I don't have a machine to play it on. I'm confident I could waste day after day thinking I'm a Jet2 captain flying a 757 MAN-TFS, MAN-PMI etc

Yeah I really struggled with the helis in XP11. I assumed they were realistic and they’re quite difficult to fly in real life too.

have had a bit more success using the xbox controller.

Just spent a couple of hours flying over the Lake District, taking off from Walney Island and touching down in Carlisle.

scenery is amazing!

One thing though, my landings don't seem to be getting logged in my logbook? Do I need to do something after I land to "complete" the flight? Do you need to taxi somewhere specific switcht the aircraft off?

I've not used the logbook yet, I'll have a look if mine gets registered once I land.

Just landed, parked up and switched the engine and avionics off and I got a summary and what looked to be an entry in my log. So yeah, looks like you need to do all of the above.
