Our captain ladies and gentlemen… I hate booing and giving grief to former players, but I think for Evans I’d make an exception.

The more I think on it, the more he comes across as a bit of a twat.

I guess Utd are his club and much in the same way that in a parallel universe where I played for us and left I would love to go back, but at least dress it up a bit

I don't agree, I think he was/is being self deprecating here

Nah not for me, and having just quoted without reading further replies looks like I was just repeating them anyway - hindsight suggests he didn't really give a shit

perhaps, I cant say you're wrong either

I don't mind what he gets up to, and we got a good deal out of Evans, no matter how things ended up. its all rather amusing that Utd choose to re sign (and play !) him

Someone I work with has met him and his family quite a few times. By all accounts he is a very genuine, down to earth guy.

I don't think he didn't care while he was here, but football is certainly a job to him. There's no shame in that. He had a lot of annoying injuries last season which in sure he wasn't pleased about.

Yeh I'm sure he's a decent bloke outside of football and fair point in it being just 'a job', as you say no shame in that, but I'd argue acknowledging the fans is part of that 'job' and from memory he didn't even post a goodbye message etc.

I don't expect gushing 300 word posts and suspect those that do that have them written for them anyway but it just feels a bit clinical. Maybe he was pissed of with the club with the terms offered or something but thats nothing to do with the fans..

Oh well, not splitting hairs he's gone now and I don't really care how he fares from here

Two of the best that Europe has ever seen, absolutely sensational footballers. I wish they could have stayed in England or on the continent to finish their careers.

Might be contentious and I can see why Brendan cops the blame for relegation…..probably quite rightly, but Ghezzal, Amartey, Soumare, Tête, Under, Evans, Soyuncu, Tielemans got pasted daily on here throughout their time here…..they also have to be accountable for relegation last season in some way….similarly last season N’didi, Faes ( Liverpool away) Vesty, and Vardy touted as either crap or finished on here, yet all have been outstanding this….again Rodger’s accountable…but again some responsibility sits with the players….football we are playing is great, manager is great, but success like failure does sit between manager and players….

Don't think ghezzal and under need to take any responsibility for relegation given they'd left years before tbh

And Brendan froze Cags out last year. How any of them can be deemed remotely responsible is beyond me

The money they are on now is phenomenal. We are grateful to have had them, but I hope they also appreciate the break they had been given by Leicester. Some talented players for whatever reason don’t rise to the top like them (and for them top of the earners’ chart). Mendy for example wasted his prime with us sitting on the bench, when he is providing again playing Champions League football for Lens that while he is not worldclass he was quite a decent player. He could have achieved and earned more had he had a break with us.

Anyway just tracking to say that what why are earning now is crazy.
