Schlupp brought a chaos that was needed at times. Fast, direct and completely random. Left everyone, yes including himself, guessing.

If we had that last year, it could have been a differentiator. We were so predictable and turgid (Youri!).

I feel like Fatawu and Mavididi bring us a bit of Schlupp excitement this season.

Reports emerging that Youri wants to leave Villa after falling out with Emery.

That was your big contract refusing move, Youri?

Enjoy Fenerbache or Atalanta.

Sounds exactly like Monaco all over again.

Seems sometimes some players and clubs fit each other like a glove.  Youri was great for the majority of his time with us up until the Cup Final goal.  Such a shame the guy decided to not put the same effort in after that as he thought he was better than us.  He was one of my favorite players before he stopped putting the effort in.

His legs have gone and downing tools for 2 years will not have helped him maintain the fitness required for top level football in this country.

Winks quite clearly wants to be at Leicester and his performances show it.  Would not swap him for this lazy, unfit has-been.  His performances, last season especially, were a disgrace in the main.  Thought he was going to a super club and ended up with a side-ways move to Villa and he can't even get into their team.

As you say Fenerbache or a Saudi move come the summer.

Villa fans saying that they overpaid for Tielemans !!

They probably did with his free agent bonus and wage.

He's old enough to own his career choices at this point - there's no young and reckless about it. Piss poor decision making. He genuinely would have been better off staying put on a two year contract.

I wonder if he thinks that.

Na no chance, I daresay the Villa wedge + signing on fee have done a lot for him. Even if he wants out now, he wants out / is on the periphery of an upwardly mobile Premier League club. He’ll get a good move if / when he leaves on that basis alone, before you dive in to outside perceptions.

Signing on for us when the league season alone is 8 games longer at a stage where he could already barely move would’ve seen his stock fall even further tbh. I genuinely think 2023 Tielemans struggles in the Championship, where would that leave him? Certainly no better off than he will be when he moves on from Villa.

He’s completely knackered he won’t be able to cope in any sort of physical league. He’s definitely looking to flirt with Saudi clubs now.

Really looks like he's feeling the affects of playing since so young.

Almost he needs a big spell out of football to recover

Had memory holed most of the Puel era but we actually looked like a very good team at times

Just never had much consistency a bit like Grey

We looked like a good team for a handful of games when he took over. Beyond that it was dull, lifeless mess.

Completely disagree that he downed tools and tbh I'm sick of people saying this sort of nonsense every time a player is out of form.

Let’s be honest, he was “out of form” for a bloody long time

I see Curtis Davies the player who joined Birmingham over us (back on loan) because he wanted to play for a big club has just got his 1st International call up at the ripe old age of 38, for Sierra Leone, ooh Curtis how different your career could have been had you chose us.

Maybe, but I don't think he wasn't trying, he just wasn't playing that well. Partly because he's the kind of player who feeds others and they were all playing crap
