Anyone watch the dunfermline falkirk match?

if anyone wants to know how the english game on and off the field has changed watch that one.  This aint italy, or germany this is scotland.

A championship match in scotland with less than 9000 there.  Brilliant atmsophere, attacking full bloodied action. pyro all over the place.

Its still amazing to see even in these games 100's of ultras bouncing, drums banging, all led by a capo ...in dunfermline.

Almost the whole end just full of young lads, no coincidence given the clubs and the SFA have targeted them.  The complete opposite to south of the border...

Unfortunately there was a downside, yet again there was flares being thrown and ripped up seats.....but it sure was entertaining.

I was switching between this and Arsenal game.

The quality is chalk and cheese but entertainment wise there's only 1 winner.

The 9k is a brilliant attendance, aided by how well Falkirk are doing.

Quite a bit of teeth gnashing in the media about the pyro interrupting the restarts, and ripping seats out isn't clever.

One think I'm noticing up North is the apparent acceptance of throwing items onto the pitch towards the players.  Again, not clever, I'm just hoping the young teams don't abuse the current "amnesty" the authorities seem to be showing.

And so many youngsters, whatever the SFA or the clubs have done its made a huge difference.  They understand that these are supporters of the future.  One of the reasons I believe for the lenient approach is the bigger picture.

The pictures on the BBC after the edinburgh derby, thousands of hibs fans in the away end 95% look like teenage/20's....scan the premier league and you'd do well to see any notable group of that age.

Watching scottish football reminds me of when I started going regulary in the early 90's, loads of lads, good atmospheres and full bloodied football.  People can call the quality but its so much better to watch than pocession football.

It’s what happens when everyone works together, fans, police, clubs, politicians, and appreciates the impact that football can have on communities. These are poor places, yet by having young lads attending these games, being part of something, it keeps them out of trouble. So even if they’re ripping up seats etc, the cost to the police and tax payer is probably way less than the alternative

I moved south in 2007 and rotated between Derby, Forest and Leicester depending who they were playing at home. Lots of Championship football.

The difference in age demographic was noticeable then, and to be honest I was envious that the English clubs seemed to hold onto fans past 40 years old.

At that time Scotish clubs attendances were dwindling and they still struggle to attract the older generation, bar the old firm.

Ironically, Rangers going bust helped (not Celtic), and post covid it's become fashionable for Ultras groups to out do each other. Much like the casual culture in the 80's.

I gave up on attending Derby Forest Leicester about 5 years ago due to pricing. I am considering QPR at £15 in a few weeks.

The english clubs have backed themselves into a corner due to players wages, so have to keep prices high and can't afford to offer decent consessions to youngsters.

Interesting point I hadn't considered this.

There's no question that things are going on behind the scenes that has led to such a lenient approach.

There are of course calls for tougher measures from some parties but it seems to be falling on deaf ears...especially when it comes to strict liability for clubs.

The only way I can see things changing is if theres some tragic occurance, lets all hope that never happens.  If the ultra groups can self police as many do, then the scene in scotland could be very very special.

Some scenes at the end of the dundee united game..... I think the expression is 'limbs'.

Tonnes of pyro from aberdeen fans too.

Unfortuantely yet again missiles being thrown, including a half full bottle of vodka.

Noticed on the dundee united website the main page banner for ticket sales has the eastside supporters group ..thats how to show support for the fans.

What's happened to Aberdeen?

Ran out of steam.

2 of our new players came from Scandinavia and have been playing non stop a season and a half.

Gaye got injured 6 weeks ago and no striker has stepped forward.

2 young lads at the heart of the defence have been found out, basically get it in the mixer and we can't defend it.

Apart from that, its going great.....😆

Roll on the transfer window and winter break.
