Because the sponsor is ridiculously high. We're coming to a point where the sponsor can't push the badges up any higher so they'll end up being below them.

I'm not sure exactly why, but the fact that arguably one of the club's biggest modern day wins came at Anfield whilst the team were wearing a Purple and Green kit probably helps its legendary status?
