Underated player for us for sure. Scored some important goals. Him and Hume up too worked well! I've got a signed shirt of his, pretty chuffed with that.

Oh and Izzetts shirt. Will definitely treasure that one!!

Go in Fryatt win the case.

He was great for us in the season in League 1.

However his Championship record for us was something like a goal every 5 games. He only scored 2 from 30 games in the season we were relegated! Like Hume, half decent player at the time I suppose.

I’m sure he’d had heal injuries prior to being at Forest. Maybe even surgery whilst at Hull. It’ll be hard proving that it was Forest that cut short hair career. He was 31, so technically was in the latter stages of his career anyway.

He only played a handful of games for Forest, so you could argue that he was getting paid for not doing a lot! It’ll be hard proving that Forest caused the injury and it wasn’t related to other stuff, either prior or during his time there.

Either way, it sets a bad legal precedent if footballers can claim this. Can you imagine Daniel Sturridge rolling out this?!?

Well done Matty and best of luck to him.

The most vile club on the planet.  Every brick, every fibre, every blade of grass of that place is repulsive. An affront.

My soul will never rest until every trace of that filth has been fully destroyed and all records erased from history.

I hate people that sit on the fence

I'd imagine clubs would just put something in the contract that doesn't allow them to make these type of claims or they would have their own insurance that covers the legal fees or something.

This could actually improve the quality of footballers care in the long run - Arsenal could learn from this.

"Career taken away from me". What at the age of 34!!

To be fair to him, although he's 34 now the article says he retired at 31, having not played for 3 years due to his injury.....so career ended at 28, effectively.

I've no idea whether his claim is justified, though.

We all like a chuckle at Forest's expense but if he wins it could set a precedent that would see the end of quite a few lower league clubs.

you can’t assume they are being negligent just because they are lower league clubs

My point was that if Fryatt is successful, this case will result in copycat claims throughout the league pyramid, and already hard-up lower league clubs will be the ones hardest hit. Fatcat Prem clubs will be OK.

Loved Fryatt. Probably one of the best finishers we’ve seen down at the ground over the last 15-20 years or so. Matty Fryatt one on one with the goalkeeper, or even Fryatt v a defender + goalkeeper pretty much always ended with a goal.

He had this brilliant knack of being able to either slip the ball past the last defender and finish or bend it round him past the keeper.

Can we take it you`re not so keen then?

The courts will look into his medical records and make a decision. Many business’s who cover an employee’s medical treatment often have similar cases. I’ve currently got one ongoing (nowhere near on the scale of this) but it isn’t uncommon.
