20/21 Season Predictions

Unless we sign a new centre back a new winger and a forward passing midfielder.

 

League Position 16th

FA Cup 4th round

Carrabo cup qtr finals

Europa fail to get out of group.

 

I am afraid I just cant see this season being a good one.  Too much over reliance on Vardy and as for our wingers Albrighton, Gray and Barnes well quite frankly all have been sussed out.

Current squad gonna be between 12th and 15th. Don’t see lasting long in the Europa league. Rodgers record in Europe isn’t great. Can see us getting knocked out early in both cups. Vardy leading scorer - 15 goals. Most assists Maddison.

This "Rodgers isn't great in Europe" thing really is a crap argument. Do you think we're bound to get turned over by the Slovenian league Cup winners because he never won the Champions league with Celtic?

Not just at Celtic. His record with Liverpool was poor as well.

Some of these predictions for top 10 finishes 😂 we have a makeshift LB we are seriously short of attacking threat and Vardy is on the decline.. this season is going to be a struggle

I don't disagree but look at teams in the bottom half. Their squads are no better than ours.

Very optimistic. Out of interest what in particular is causing you to look forward to this year? 

 

Not taking the piss by the way, just intrigued as I'm dreading it to be honest

I have no good or even realistic reason for my optimism, except that I prefer to be optimistic.

 

Realistically, I suspect we will start slow (injuries, suspensions, new players, etc).  Draw at WBA, win over Burnley, loss to Man City.  People will be panicking and foretelling doom.

 

Then we get Evans back (maybe already back by then?), Castagne starts to fit in, Ricardo begins playing, and things go upwards from there.

 

Dislike the doomsaying and general negativity.

I think a lot is resting on how much difference Ricardo will make when he comes back from injury. He’s probably the most important player we have in my opinion.

Purely because I've seen nothing to suggest that we will be any better than we were for the last 20 games of last season, which was bottom 6 form.  We've bought no one that will make a difference and we still have injuries, an aging squad and a team totally devoid of confidence and a manager that doesn't actually seem to know what his plan is apart from winning possession stats at any cost.

We’ll start slow but finish strong. We still have one of the best midfield trios in the league and our RB is a match winner.

The transfer window is open for another month yet!

Seriously think we could have a great season. We've got plenty of class all over the park, and I think that with a little more bravery and speed (ie not being so worried about losing posession etc) we could be a problem for anyone. 

When we're on it (and, ok, there were too many times after Christmas when we weren't) we're one of the most exciting teams in the country. 

Genuinely looking forward to this season. 

Choose to be optimistic. It makes life feel better...
