Lads a sad little piss head, doesnt give two ****s about us, enjoying his £40k weekly salary. Awful footballer who has the backbone of a digestive biscuit dunked in hot piss

I said it a few pages back on this thread- I haven’t seen a worse regularly starting player for Leicester in all the years I’ve been watching.

He has played SO many games for us, it is simply unbelievable. He is one of the main reasons me and my Dad just cannot face watching us. So thoroughly undeserving of being a professional footballer, let alone earning the salary he does here and being our first choice left back.

Danny Ward?

Luke’s played more than double the games Danny did and at least we didn’t offer him another 4 year deal. It’s Luke for me. Worst ever.

We literally gave Danny ward another 4 year contract nearing the end of his first deal with us. Can’t have been about during the Leveine days, either.

I was. Been going since 1988. Dad since 60s. When was Ward’s new deal? Can’t have been after all those games Rodgers picked him for surely.

Absolutely 100% my feelings too.

Every time his name is on the team sheet, the energy, anticipation of the game is sucked out of me. And for me too, I won't go so long as he's in a matchday squad. I ain't paying to watch a player who's realistically no better at football than I was at his age.

And I agree. He's the worst player to ever consistently play for us. Certainly 1981. I think he's possibly comparatively worse in his position than Ward. Ward at least had some professional qualities - cross collection and the ball at his feet. Whereas Thomas doesn't have anything apparent that's professional level - strength,.speed, skill, game intelligence,. positional play, touch.

Can't remember a player having a career like he's had. Gone from looking competent alongside good Premier League players and starting the winning FA Cup final to not getting into a Boro team out on loan.

Then somehow managing to go from not getting in a Championship team on loan to starting for us again in Premier League. Then starting again for us despite a hell of a lot of performances where he looks out his depth.

He's had the odd really good performance for us. That Liverpool game, Forest last season and Derby this season. Always wanted him to do well but just comes a point when you can't defend him any more. He will be a squad player for us for the next couple of years before we hopefully convince someone to take him on.

Realistically he’s always been a concern for most Leicester fans even during that early part of his career mainly during lockdown when he had some positive moments. He will continue to have some good games because let’s face it, he’s a professional footballer. His inconsistency though is the proof that he’s a professional footballer playing out of his depth. Drop him down to League 2/National League level where his opponents will be less capable and less consistent and he’d be fine. At Championship level he has more bad games than good. We’ve seen the proof and Boro fans won’t disagree.

I think if you took any reasonably fit 23 year old lad from senior league or even Sunday parks football and invested 7 years of elite coaching, conditioning plus just general exposure to other pros in training each day for those 7 years,  then they'd be at least Luke Thomas level.

Similar to others not sure I can stomach 4 more years of him. Detestable individual. Interesting that his Uncles been quiet on here for a fair while…

The weird thing with Thomas is that he's truly dreadful, a competition winner. But two games ago, for the one and only time in his career, he was bombing forward whipping in dangerous balls. Never seen before and apparently since.

Frustration with Thomas is he is technically decent with good delivery but his weaknesses just haven't been worked on, namely his lack of physicality. Look at how Chilwell bulked out, it's a necessary part of the modern game. Surely he and the coaching staff could/should have realised this?

So weak, and consequently a target for the opposition. Aluko has more potential, and should get a run.

Drop him and play Mirsad Ali. There is absolutely no way he can be any worse than Luke Thomas.

Leave Aluko at RB because Ricardo is past it unfortunately and Hamza hasn’t had a good performance at RB all season.

Sorry if I’ve missed something in this thread but how do you and some other other posters on here, know about his private life and personality? Stop being mean and simply focus on his poor footballing skills as you see them.

I want  him to do well, but he has been mostly poor for a long time. However, the coaching staff see things we don’t which make them believe he is first choice at the moment. In fact , our treasured Matt Elliot said on match comms a few games ago ( it wasn’t Derby) how good LT is, when we all thought on FT he’d had a crap game.

I think his issue is he doesn't excel at anything.  He's not a great defender, positionally, 1 on 1, he's not a great runner of the ball, he's not a threat going forward.  He plays it safe, and can even make that look problematic.  He'll have odd games where he snuffs out a potent attacker, or where he puts in a few good crosses in a game, but it's nowhere near enough to cover up his deficiencies.

They don't live on other planets.  It could be that he frequents a pub local to the poster.  If he's getting mullered in public, members of the public see it.

So you see, you’ll now speculating on what the posters might ( or might not know ) unless you actually know about LT yourself!

Back in my favourite era, Wortho et al were seen in the Horsefair downing pints ,  Bestie was a big drinker etc but it was all normal. If some of you have first hand knowledge, then please spill the beans!

I don't and never claimed to and don't really give a shit.  I just illustrated the point to you that footballers don't live in a secret society and so some people may see/interact with them.

I still think Ward is worse but he was also doing it at a higher level in a more important and potentially costly position so every chance it's that.

Ah, but they mostly do live in their own protected worlds though don’t they. If he was out getting mullered, or the poster who called him a “sad little pisshead” knowing LT was in his local a lot, then fair enough.
Those footballers who drink drive, crash cars under the influence, fight in public etc deserve all they get and media outrage, but the personal attacks without any evidence pee me off. He knows he’s in very  poor form, and it’s very likely he’s us doing all he can to improve. If we do have a better option, than he must be dropped,

I’d rather we dropped him and played Chemical Ali.
