I know we don't want complete flat tracks, but I find this kind of test cricket with wickets tumbling crap. Especially if its day 2.

Depends how you look at things. It's exciting in that there will be a result and it's a real test of batting skill. It's also more exciting than both teams scoring 500. But I agree it's a pitch that is clearly too bowler friendly. It has to be said though that bowling on both sides has been brilliant.

Stokes hasn't got runs for ages now. He's basically a bowler and a captain.

If we had someone like rehan in there, or another spinning all rounder that could bat in the top 6. Stokes would be number 8 these days.

Yeah baffling they picked Bashir for this, knowing the forecast, and baffling in general he continues to be overlooked when he can bat so well.

Compared to the first innings that's a decent effort and probably be enough but it's not good enough really is it. 

Some unplayable balls yes but also some decent positions just chucked away.

This pitch is appalling and you can guarantee if it was Cardiff or Durham, they’d lose a test match over this.

Nassar Hussain was very scathing of the wicket & whole square in general.

It needs digging up & relaying......at a cost of £12m !

 

Apparently, they have the money, but unless threatened with being left out of holding Test Matches, they won’t do too much. 

 

I imagine this game will make it impossible for something drastic not to happen.

The Cricketer had the Lancashire chief exec messaging into their post-match podcast last night to have a go at the pitch (about 3 mins in)...

I read today that when they dig up a wicket, it takes three years before it's playable at elite level
