Popular Post Scotch Posted 22 August 2022 Popular Post Posted 22 August 2022 On Talksport a minute ago, Sourness was asked :are you happy with Brendan Rodgers"... ...He answered "No. He still has a whole lot to prove but he talks a good game". It's half 11 on a Monday morning and I'm being forced to agree with Grahame fvcking Souness. It's going to be a long week. 4 17

Hope I am wrong, but I don't see that. That's fair enough. I just do not see an alternative that will fill me with more confidence than the hope of us returning to how we were a couple of seasons ago. Grass isn't always greener comes to mind. Think i just have more patience than others 1

Dyche is known for his defensive football but, aside from conceding 39 when they got into Europe, it's not exactly an improvement on our situation now and last season. i'm sure we conceded more than that last year & the year before? burnley's players are also largely pretty average, no? I'm not in the 'Dyche In' Camp (if such a thing even exists). 1

Chocolate_teapot says he's definitely not gone and won't be going anywhere until at least after Brighton So basically, forget the last 24 hours. ITK 1

My point was, if you're ready to sack a manager after 3 games it really should have been done in the summer. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. After a disappointing conference league semi, we actually finished the season pretty strongly above teams with managers people are waxing lyrical about right now (Potter, Vieira etc). If the board felt we would go into pre-season positively, then i think they wouldn't have needed to sack him. Something has clearly happened during preseason which has soured relationships further. Maybe it decisions on players (incoming and outgoing), maybe its just how the the Fofana situation has been dealt with. But Brendan has gone from looking positive and motivated to dragging his heals around like a spoiled child. His demeanor over the last few games and interviews has been appalling. On its own this should be a warning from a performance perspective - he has started behaving in a way that is damaging to the business he represents. I also don't want clubs to be sacking managers 3 games into a season. But, we have to be serious and and see that the man is not currently doing his job properly at a very critical time. I don't think the board will be flippant about this. I think some very serious down to earth conversations have been going on are still going on. But if its abundantly clear that things cannot continue, then it will have to happen soon. I think we have to appreciate that the situation we are in right now is very different to the one at the end of last season. 1

I think he meant Congerton was hired via recruitment firm Which I actually find plausable... if you're a lazy recruitment firm (they all are) your first call is probably to the bloke your new manager has worked with on several occassions 1

Countryfox Posted 22 August 2022 Posted 22 August 2022 If you had a Leicester City related bucket called "BUSTED FLUSH" that had a bearing on our current state of affairs ... who or what would you put in it at the moment .. Brendan Rodgers ? Senior management (all the way to the Top) ? Recruitment department ? Fofanna ? Vardy ?

This is it. The morning before a game, you are usually filled with excitement. Regardless of who we play. Now there is a genuine feel of dread. That feeling of disappointment, regret after a game is also quite common for us now. Whether it be Spurs at home or last Saturday! I just want him to go. He’ll be happier and I truly believe, so will we.

I don't believe that for a second. We were the third club that they worked alongside each other and we a supposed to believe that that is purely coincidence. He had a say in Congertons appointment here and it will take a whole lot to change my mind on that. 1
