would never have had a senior appearance here if he wern't local and didn't have a funny haircut. The guy can't even recieve the ball very well. Good to see no sympathy from Brendan.

Had high hopes for him when he started few games for the firsts. Our progress has happened quicker than his, best for both if we sell him so he can have more games and forge career at a Norwich type side.

Hamza could do a very good job with Forest. I was very pleased to see Leeds back in the premiership and Forest are another sleeping giant I would like to get back in there.

How many other Leicester fans want them back in the PL? Most that I know were hoping they'd get relegated, although a fair few were hoping for Derby or co*.

Newcastle United revive interest in Leicester midfielder Hamza Choudhury... but boss Steve Bruce faces battle to persuade owner Mike Ashley to increase transfer budget

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has rekindled his interest in Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury.

Bruce wanted to sign the England U21 international in January but Leicester were unwilling to let him out after Dennis Praet picked up a hamstring injury.

Now, with Leicester having lined up the £20million signing of Lille's Boubakary Soumare, they would be willing to listen to offers. Bruce's main problem though will be persuading owner Mike Ashley to increase his transfer budget.

Newcastle are advancing with their £8million move for Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer and have discussed a deal for Wigan striker Kyle Joseph but that will leave little left in the coffers for the likes of Choudhury or Joe Willock who has impressed on loan from Arsenal.

It's understood Newcastle have around £12m to spend plus any revenue they raise through sales.

Winger Allan Saint-Maximin is their prime sellable asset but the club are likely to price him out of any move with the Frenchman valued in the £70m bracket.

That means they will have to be creative in their pay structure on deals or rely on loans.

Choudhury, 23, was part of Leicester's FA Cup winning side but is open to a move so he can play more regular football.

I still believe Choudhury could turn out to be a good player, we should try loaning him to one of the lower half teams. Maybe enough first team action will help his progress.

Better to sell, take the money and reinvest in a player with the potential to start. Don't think he has the technical ability to play at the level Rodgers requires. Loan only if there are no other options. Newcastle are skint. He has quality and other clubs will be looking in his price bracket. Patience.

He's their best player, I'd be disappointed if we didn't put a massively inflated price on ours.

We got £80m for Maguire, because that's what we asked for, why not ask for £70m for ASM

I know Newcastle are awful but having seen them play plenty this season, Saint Maximin is the real deal.  70 million in the current climate probably not, but he is way way better than Newcastle.

I actually rate him he’s one of those players you never know what he’s going to do and neither does he half the time 😀. But he in no way is a 70m player in the same way Harry wasn’t an 80m player . We only got that as Man U were desperate to buy him . Also with covid and money being tighter I would think prices will be somewhat lower this window .

Saint-Maximin Is a very good player indeed. Would improve many already decent sides. However, in the current climate, he’s probably £45 million tops.

Newcastle going to try and get him on loan because they are skint

Newcastle keen on loan deal for Leicester's Hamza Choudhury

NEWCASTLE are interested in a summer deal for Hamza Choudhury, but with his transfer budget set to be extremely limited, Steve Bruce would ideally like to line up a loan deal for the Leicester City midfielder.

The Magpies came close to signing Choudhury in January, only for a long-term injury to Dennis Praet to force Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers to keep the 23-year-old at the King Power Stadium.

However, even with Praet sidelined, Choudhury managed just four Premier League starts in the whole of last season, and with the Foxes close to completing the £20m signing of Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, the former England Under-21 international is set to find himself shuffled even further down the pecking order in the next few weeks.

He is understood to be keen to move on this summer in an attempt to reignite his career, and Bruce is ready to rekindle the interest that was shelved at the start of the year.

However, while Leicester might well be keen to cash in on Choudhury, whose current contract is not due to expire until the summer of 2023, their valuation of their academy product might well make it difficult for Newcastle to pull off a deal.

Mike Ashley remains determined to try to push through the sale of the club this summer, and as a result, he will be keeping his transfer spending to an absolute minimum.

That will force Bruce to focus on the loan market, and the Newcastle boss will be doing all he can to persuade the Leicester hierarchy to agree to release Choudhury on a season-long loan.

Retaining Choudhury while allowing him to play elsewhere could be an appealing option for the Foxes, although if they do sanction a loan move, it is unlikely to be until the end of the transfer window, a situation that would not be ideal from Newcastle’s perspective.

Nice lad Cloudhury, but we need better.  Take what Newcastle offer, or let them have him on loan. But get him off the wages bill, as hopefully we'll have some talented new signings to pay.

Just let them have him and don't pay the rest of what we owe on Perez. Or let them have Perez and Choudhury for what we owe on Ayoze + £15m.

That is one brilliant idea. You get a star for that Ric 😊

I think Perez stays, we have too much other work to do in this summer window then selling him and finding a replacement.

I now he's not the best but like Maddison he came into the season injured and had fitness problems during the season. A fully fit and confidant Ayoze is a decent squad player.

My thoughts exactly. It’s not like he’s been massively involved

A rare occasion that his agent would probably deserve a chunky bonus for swinging that

I disagree. Injuries or not Perez is not up to the mark. He is too airy fairy , no speed and goes missing in the latter stages of a game.

He has to be sold. He can run around like a demented hare and get ran over by a car whenever he likes (in football terms to get a red card), but he can't do much else.

I don't beleive they can't afford 8mil and considering they are desperate for any half decent CDM right now then I'm calling their bluff.
