Anyone watching the Aussie Rules footy?

Come from a family of Richmond fans, went to watch them a few times when I was there. Last few seasons have been brilliant but this season a write off.

Looking forwards to the Grand Final in a couple of weeks, it’s really odd having no games for 2 weeks between the preliminary finals and the big day.

Not really a sport, but is there a sewing thread?

No, it would be bobbins, wouldn't it? Would just lead to people needling one another.

Tried giving a go. I like football and both codes of rugby so I thought it would be up my street. I couldn't really get on with it. Would happily give it another go though.

I'm massively into NRL (Australian Rugby League). Absolutely fantastic sport to watch. The playoffs have just started and there have been some amazing games this weekend.

It's a simple game, for a simple people but it has enough brutality in it to keep it interesting.

Its similar to the GAA over in Ireland. Even a few of our footballers have gone over there and made a success of it.

I remember watching it on Sky in the late 90s and there was a game some team won by 1 point with a behind the deciding score. Yet hardly anyone celebrated in the crowd whereas they would go into a frenzy if there was a goal.Found it a bit strange at the time.

I still reckon Gaelic Football is the better sport but the catching in AFL is top class.
