Way before my time, but some great footage of him on the History of Leicester DVD they released. Seemed quite a shy man in the interviews.

Also, absolutely amazing that we went from 1959-1985 having three first choice keepers in that time. Banks, Shilton and Wallington. We really were blessed for that period.

Wallo.   Absolute top player and top guy.

Late 70's/early 80's, he was the Kop's favourite.

He made 331 consecutive competetive appearances from 1975-1982, until injured in the famous Shrewsbury cup tie.

And as said above, a really funny guy with a great sense of humour.   He played the game with a smile.

If it weren't for "the cat", and because we were such slow starters, we'd ve been 4-0 down after 15 mins in most games. Incredible shot stopping and agility 👏👌

Remember him well. A superb goalkeeper. Learned his trade from the best, Banks and Shilton.

Always thought he should have been Englands number 1.

I think Our Gordon had long gone before Wallington signed for us.

Does he hold a grudge about Chic Bates? I do. I was in pen 2 so saw it close and personal. I would've twatted him if I could. A few others held the same opinion.

He will always be “my” City keeper. Loved him. He loved his cricket and I played against him a few times, when I was younger. Such a regular and humble bloke.

Great team and very much integrated with local supporters. Steve kembers kid went to our school and my brother went out with geoff blockleys daughter. Maybe they weren’t such celebrities on mega salaries.
