So Wales are having sport behind closed doors from Boxing Day. How long before we do the same? Or are we going to let our citizens have the freedom to take the risks they want to take?

I think the boxing day game might be the last for a while personally

Can't say I'll be too upset. It's hardly been much fun at home this season.

I hope we’re both wrong, but it’s looking likely. But surely the mop headed moron needs to announce it soon!

The country is vaxxed to the eyeballs. Deaths are still very very low compared to this time last year. I can’t say I agree with locking us down again - but it’s looking likely

Deaths trail infection by 3 weeks or so.

Figures for hospitalisations and deaths won't start to appear yet!...

We're in for a return to empty stadiums , closed theatres, pubs etc after Christmas.

Hope so, at least the majority of us that are vaccinated. The rest of them that choose not to get jabbed should stay at home.

Agreed. It might sound sad, but the visits to KP have been the highlight of this year. Our household locked down really hard when restrictions were in place and I don’t really want to lose the freedom now we have it back. Regardless of team performance or atmosphere. It’s about being there, whatever the weather with other supporters. It’s been really helpful for the young lad.

Omicron has been in the UK for over 3 weeks and hospitalisations aren’t exactly unmanageable at the moment.

If you’re high risk, stay home and shield. It should be as simple as that really.

Wales have been the ultimate virtue signallers to be fair. Drakeford definitely gets off on the power rush.

I'm okay with it being used as a safety net for the NHS if there are signs of an explosion, but to say it's going to happen before anything has even happened is just killing the spirit of the country.

If Omicron spreads faster because it's multiplying upto 7 times faster in people, then surely people will be getting ill 7 times quicker? So instead of there being a 2/3 week lag. It should be 3-4 day lag?

On a more positive note, at least it won't affect the atmosphere.

It’s a week since the jump from 50k to 90k

the data on consequential hospitalisations will not be available until later this week and next.

as it drips through this week, govt will make a call - by next week they will know if that was right or not

If this does happen and we have to listen to that fake crowd noise shit again, can someone make sure that BT don't play the West Ham soundtrack over our home games again please?

Not sure I can cope with another few months of "I'm forever blowing bubbles" whenever Madders takes a shit corner.

Make more noise than the real crowd!!

I've heard hroughbthe grapevine as well as goal music they are introducing fake crowd noise from NEXT season.

As to what's going on with games in England, I'm sure BoJo the tw@t will announce Pkan G late on Christmas Day when most people will be too p1ssed to even know!!!

Just let us do right by ourselves. Ridiculous to do it again.

I think most of the public have had enough of any lockdown or circuit breaker.

If the toffs at the top dont abide to any lockdowns why should we mere mortals?

Cant have this sh1t EVERY bloody year.

Time at home with the Mrs will rocket divorce rates!!!

P.S I've not bought my ST Watford FA Cup game yet, just incase!

It took such a long time and was a rigmarole getting the money refunded and chasing it around after the Chelsea FA Cup quarter final game was behind closed doors.

First working day after Christmas I expect. While Parliament is in recess so he doesn't have to face any questions about his decision.

With Frost gone, it looks as though the rats are starting to jump off the sinking ship.

Go behind closed doors. Yes unfortunately fans will miss out but all those debating obviously have not sat looking after a Covid patient who is about to die or have never had to fight off grieving relatives. A short lockdown would be the best solution to try and get on top of the present situation.

With respect to public health, you are not "taking the risks" for just yourself.

You are though, aren’t you? For instance we test every time we’re going to see our parents just to be safe. It’s not hard.

Last year was different. We didn’t have home testing. Now we do.

Same. I’ve gone to do it several times in the last 24 hours and not followed through. Don’t want the hassle, even if it is a cheap ticket
