Rennes Away (Travel Plans)

It's mainly the flight companies who shit themselves about covid docs, not border control.

They've been bullied into acting as some kind of concentration camp 'capo' with huge fines looming if they deliver 'undesirable ' passengers - presumably as border force have unions and staffing issues for govts to bully them into additional cpivf work.

Fortunately, this entire world farce is just about done.

Eurotunnel costs £50 or ferry is £75 . Its a 5 hour drive from Calais . Sounds like a road trip to me. Split the costs between a car of 4 ,sleep on ferry for a few hours.

What can go wrong

COVID 19

2 out of 3 of my car have caught covid and now none of us are going . was booked on Newhaven to dieppe ferry tonight.

I'm absolutely gutted. This was my first European away since Brugges.

Not been abroad for nearly 3 years so really was looking forward to going to Brittany for first time in years and sampling some Breton cider

first time I've had it . Been testing the last few days hoping for a negative result - I feel ok but have to act responsibly

Thanks for previous advice on passports

Anyone in a car who goes to supermarket and has room can you pick me up some bottles of the Breton cider.

Please get through this tie LCFC so I'll have another chance in the next round

I realise in the context of other world events that my disappointment is quite trivial but still....so close....

That was domestic entry rules for bars/stadiums etc. That has now gone as all restrictions were removed on 14 March (bar wearing masks in the odd place like public transport).

Only place they've asked us to wear a mask so far is on the trains and buses.

Looking at game day, I think Foxes and friends pub is too small for hundreds of City fans imo.... I think O Connells beside the square, looks a good call as an unofficial designated pub.

Is there an escort to the ground tomorrow ?

I'm tempted to check out foxes and friends tonight for the TV games, think it's a good shout tonight?

Are most people going for the town centre tomorrow? We arrive early afternoon and were planning to grab tickets from stadium, check into hotel (which is between stadium and city) and then prob stay near hotel (saves 30 mins walking between city and there, therefore more drinking time).

Mail Francois Mitterand is where we are aiming I think, seem to be a few decent boozers.
