Booth never left Yorkshire apart from a brief loan spell with Spurs. Never got why Craig Mackail-Smith turned us down.

I heard the deal breaker was our refusal to let him park up in the KP carpark.

My memory of Mackail-Smith was we’d agreed with him, but it was us who refused to sign him off, as we were still looking at other options.

He basically saw it (probably rightly) that he was 2nd choice and we only wanted him if we couldn’t sign anyone else. So he gave up waiting for us and signed for Brighton instead.

We didn’t miss much, but we signed Beckford instead as a last minute panic buy. Both turned out to be a bit crap at Championship level anyway.

Not a player, but Mike Walker (Ian's dad) who almost became Manager:

Walker said later: "As far as I'm concerned nothing has changed. I have read that I was favourite for the job but it was news to me. I was told to expect a decision on Tuesday or Wednesday and I presume that's still the case. "Does Martin O'Neill's resignation have an impact on the Leicester situation? It may well do, but that's for him to say."

Didn't know that. Feel a little guilty now. I've always felt negatively about him. Not really his fault, was it?

Thinking about "ones of our own" who we invested alot of time to develop and nurture through our system and then released from our youth setup.

We didnt offer Dion Dublin a professional contract after he came through our youth system for years.

Ivon Toney, who's was with us all through his youth and already been mentioned and of course Che Adams.

All went on to secure themselves at top flight football and played for or very close to International level.

Never knew that about Dublin. What a bad decision as I don't remember us having a wealth of forward options in that era.

Mercury is reading FT again.🤣

Seven players Leicester City turned down too soon including two Premier League strikers

We deserve a commission. Interesting that it says that Clucas was let go because he was too short. Going on Wikipedia, he's now 6' 2".

That is definitely correct

"On 19 June 2000, Eiður was signed by Premier League club Chelsea for a fee of £4.5 million."

Didn't we spend £5 M on Akinbiyi? If any further proof of Taylor's incompetence was needed, this is it.

Henrik Larson. Not 100% sure if we rejected him but Zagorakis or Kammark had something to do with it?

Intriguing. I wonder why? A Greek and a Swede? Mystifying.

Bloody hell, just imagine that bench- Lewandowski and Nacho not even starting!

Sure we’d find something for Kane to do- filling up the Lucozade bottles?

Jared Bowen. I'm told his attitude and his wage demands put off Rudkin.
