Yeh I got the email from Vueling as I’m flying with them on Thursday. Bonkers. You’d have thought everyone has made enough money out of this so far and would let us onboard with a standard surgical mask

Vueling are Spanish ….. different rules in Spain  and Italy it seems ……

I’ve only got them basic free ones you always get, is that not a ffp2 mask then? lol

No. I would advise you stop by a hospital and ask for ffp masks or screw fix to buy some, as per the post above

I’ll just have to pay double and get them at Gatwick airport then.

I got some masks off Amazon a few weeks ago for a recent holiday in Italy (and by the way, flying Ryanair from East mids anyone not wearing a ffp2 one as they boarded the plane was being sent back to the departure lounge to buy one from Boots or wherever).

Anyway, the ones I got were a bit small for me, so I did a quick look round at the weekend and found those cheap ones from screwfix and bought a pack. Same problem, the ear straps are too short! Anyway they are the correct mask so you'll be fine with them.

Tomorrow, I'll have 3 hours on a plane, followed by 4 hours on a train, with my ears pulled forward so hard by the mask that blisters will form behind them, but can't wait.

3 weeks ago when I went, they were quite strict on trains needing an ffp2 mask, but in hotels, restaurants etc (which no longer need masks anyway) surgical masks were OK.

We flew from Stansted to Rome Ciampino on Monday with Ryanair, and any mask was ok.... Nothing checked in Rome other than Passport.

Flew to Naples on Ryanair. Blue masks were fine. As they were everywhere else. That was in December when rules were tighter too.

The time tomorrow will be on the train from Pisa to Rome, bring it on.

Are you on the 7.30 flight from East Mids?

I'm on that, meeting my bro who is flying in from Brussels, then train to Rome!

Easy jet was strict on the type of mask

I think the best thing is to have a FFP2 mask available incase you get asked to wear one.

Italian regulations stipulate a FFP2 mask on aircraft/trains/busses.

You wouldn't want to be denied boarding for £3!

You DO need the masks for the plane but no where else.... Once in Rome only on public transport.

Airport was strict on masks, our taxi driver didn’t bother so neither did we. It’s all a bit hit and miss

Just boarded my Ryanair flight to Venice from East Mid and they were very strict on having the appropriate FFP2 mask for the flight. Sent at least 5 people at the front of the priority queue back to Boots to buy one.

Best to be prepared 👍🏻

That's so inconsistent from Ryanair. With our flight to Rome on Monday from Stansted, we got on with blue make no problem.

To be honest I've seen a few wild boars on nights out in Leicester.
