Purely going by the players in the third it’s against Liverpool

Well done mate. I don't reckon you were born for the other 2.

Can’t remember them so would guess before my time. Pretty confident the third is against Liverpool though!

Hello sir. Thanks for playing.

No; it is not Birmingham.

It’s Southampton and it took way too  long to work it out - frank really did have more clubs than jack Nicklaus !

Do something reasonably similar to this with my mates when we're in the pub watching football, we've called it 'WHO THE **** DID HE PLAY FOR!' also see 'WHO THE **** HAS HE MANAGED'

Tend to pick out proper journeymen and you have to name all the teams they've played for, decent on train journeys to nights out/footy too lol

No they aren't. I was at the last one, I think it must have been 83/84

Andy King's second is one of my all time favourite goals... I was in the 2nd or 3rd row right behind the middle of that goal when that rocket went in. We gave Rob Green some stick that day!

I like the Wiki game too, when you take a screenshot of someones playing career and first to get it picks the next player.

Good idea for a thread this.

Gets harder with less goals, so here's a couple of painful defeats that stick in my mind:

Leicester City 0 - 1 Mystery Team.

John Jeffers, 1.

Mystery Team 1 - 0 Leicester City.

Frank Sinclair, 4.

Quoting frank sinclair and not emphasising ‘not OG’ isn’t fair ….

Actually, this one was an OG! But I didn't think that would throw many people off the scent.

I very nearly went with a Leicester City 0 - 0 Mystery Team, but thought that would definitely be crossing the line into unfairness!

Port Vale first one? Sure I remember him scoring from a cross in to give Vale a win in one of the first few matches I went too.

Middlesbrough the second one?

It was one of my first 10 or so matches too. Can't imagine back then complaining about a lack of goals after scoring first at Old Trafford, St James Park and Goodison Park in 3 consecutive league games: just watch these highlights of our attacking threat!
