Popular Post Scanchez Posted 10 May 2022 Popular Post Posted 10 May 2022 Sell them all. Spend the cash on a golden, 50 foot Nicky Maynard statue and be done with it. It's time to give the fans what they want. 2 8

StriderHiryu Posted 10 May 2022 Posted 10 May 2022 KDH Fofana Ricardo Vardy Some I would be upset to see go; JJ, Castagne, Evans, Maddison, Daka. But only the list above would upset me. I thought I'd be sad when Tielemans would leave, but this season compared to last has really made the leaving process quite easy to stomach.

I like Barnes as a player, but don’t like what I’m hearing about downing tools etc. Needs to realise the club are still paying his wages and the fans still paying to watch him! Thomas - loan to a high end Championship club. Daka and Iheanacho - Rodgers won’t play Kelechi regular and that’s what he needs. Daka. Meh. Maybe both on the bench then?!

Lambert09 Posted 11 May 2022 Posted 11 May 2022 (edited) fofana, maddison, ricardo, kdh, vardy, nacho, daka. That’s honestly it for me. (both daka and ricardo would go for less than they would be worth imo) It’s not that i want to sell the others, i just think they are replaceable for less than we’d get for them i’m just not that attached to the squad at the moment. I adore thomas but i do have a niggling feeling that he won’t consistently be good enough, i’m just really crossing my fingers that i’m wrong. if we cleared out half the squad but managed to sign Erickson, Bremer, baumgartner, sangare, madueke (or similar) and gave iversen a shot. We could really transform into a completely different, exciting team. Could it be a car crash? potentially, but the risk vs reward could be worth it. The problem we have every summer is that it takes so long to shift the deadwood and we also take forever to sell any real assets as we want the best deal possible. This ties our hands for a lot of deals and we will likely miss out on targets. We couldn’t shoot out and sign those i mentioned because there’s always the chance youri refuses to go, or nobody picks up praet. I mean ghezzal should have been the easiest deal to conclude we’ve ever had, yet he ended up playing most of preseason with us 🤷♂️ Edited 11 May 2022 by Lambert09

I don't see the sense in having Daka AND Nacho. Unless we are going 2 up top, there is no point in having two Vardy replacements where neither can play as a loan striker. Sell one and bring in someone who can slot into our primary formation in Jamie's place. 1
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 11 May 2022 Posted 11 May 2022 In terms of absolute no nos: Ndidi Fofana Maddison Justin Would be very disappointing if they went: Castagne Ricardo Soyuncu Tielemans Barnes Iheanacho KDH The rest... meh And we have please sell at all costs - Ryan Bertrand.

SkidsFox Posted 12 May 2022 Author Posted 12 May 2022 I've got the awful feeling that Wes will be on his way this summer. One of the big clubs (or Man U) will have noted just how strong he's come back from injury, and they'll swoop, if only to stop a rival jumping in. At least we gave him a good contract, so we can cash in. 1

It would be great to get another season or two from him.

It would take seriously silly money.

Now I think we can demand stupid amount of money if anyone made any enquiries.... Those expecting a huge overhaul are going to be disappointed I think. I know Rodgers mentioned 5 or 6 incomings but I think it'll be less than that and mostly fringe players being replaced by perceived upgrades. We'll lose one big name for money to finance 2 or 3 of those incomings who'll be challenging initially for a place in the first 11, hopefully a skillful goal scoring right winger but I get the feeling we want another young centre back to partner Fofana in the future and may pay big money to get that then take another gamble on a player like Lookman to fill in on the right...
fox_up_north Posted 14 May 2022 Posted 14 May 2022 I think we'll lose Youri, Soyuncu, Iheanacho and Ndidi between now and January. Some players have had a taste of Europe and with the way contracts are, I reckon our spine looks very different by 23/24. Of those, I'd want to keep Ndidi and Iheanacho. Replacing a 15+ goal scorer is absolutely impossible
sdb Posted 14 May 2022 Posted 14 May 2022 This thread is really intriguing. We've a great squad with half a dozen donkeys. Get rid of those (we all know who), cash in on Soyuncu and Youri, and keep the rest.

Replacing a 15+ goal scorer is absolutely impossible I think any of the three strikers we have would score 15 goals if they played every Premier league game. Zaha, Toney, Dennis and Pukki are all on double figures

This is a good way of setting it out. I’m a bit more conservative (not in a political sense) so I would add to your no nos no nos Vardy - surely an oversight. ndidi fofana maddison justin kdh barnes evans -still class and little resale solid pro. castagne Very disappointed youri - only cause he won’t sign. Still time to make up. cags - as above. ricardo - not back to pre injury yet. But close to no no. Give him time probably. thomas - still improving mendy - under utilised alternative to ndidi amartey - solid likeable under rated. albrighton - close to being no no. Legend. Sad if he left. Keep if don’t get markedly better. kasper - as above but get more competition (pope) Daka - as per thomas kel - frustrating natural poacher Edits: sign lookman if we don’t get Brennan johnson or someone else better. changed my mind - keep albrighton and kasper- I hate breakups. What was I thinking! have I missed anyone out? perez I’ll have to think about that a bit longer. don’t sell any kids or I’ll report you for abuse. ok I like our team and I am cautious as I say. I don’t like change when happy 😀 Edited 17 May 2022 by Supergray22 1

Deviating from the policy of selling one of our big players every season clearly hurt us last season. We should’ve sold Tielemans and/or Soyuncu when we had the chance. I think only Fofana and Maddison is going to generate any real income this summer. I really don’t want us to sell either but equally we can’t rule it out. As much as I hate to say it, we’ve got to consider it if big offers come in. Has City got a policy of selling one of its 'big' players every season? Or is it much more about a club making an unrefuseable offer and the player wanting out? We hung on to Mahrez when it was obvious he wanted out and his performances brgan to reflect that. I agree that Tielemans should have been sold when the opportunity arose, but there's been a lot of media hype about his departure without any great interest from those clubs mooted to have an interest in him.
TrickyTrevLeftPeg Posted 18 May 2022 Posted 18 May 2022 We really should look to cash in on the following: Youri Soyuncu Nacho And also try to sell the following. Vestergaard Bertrand Hamza Perez
