The only one I'm not a fan of is Tiatto didn't ever really rate him. My long term memory of him is going round on the spot  in circles and getting nowhere.

I think that qualifies him for best player that season.

Hard to argue with many of them for their particular season.

Only one for me was that I thought Nuge could have won it 2014 but thats marginal and Drinkwater was still a worthy winner.

Still dunno how Steve Howard beat Matty fryatt in the league one season.

Howard had a great season but Fryatt was incredible that season

I agree to a point but Howard was so pivotal that season, the perfect striker we needed in a division like league one, at times he was unplayable, if it wasnt for him I don't think Fryatt would have scored as many goals as he did

The one game that really sticks out with Howard was the play off 2nd leg the year after away at Cardiff, he was an absolute Colossus and dragged us through a game in which we should have won

That Cardiff game was the following season in the Championship. Howard was great in that game but it was mostly a one off that season after a largely crap season back in the Championship for him personally.

Howard was great in League One for us, but Fryatt definitely should’ve won POTY. Howard was a hard worker and fist pumper though which our fans always take to.

Vardy has only got it once!

Vardy should’ve won it in 2017-18 as well. We had a relegation level defence (we conceded even more than we did this season) and Maguire made several mistakes and we created so little under Puel that Vardy’s goals basically dragged us into the top half single-handedly. Still don’t know how he got to 20 league goals in a Puel side.

Always thought that Vardy was robbed at the time (and I remember myself and many others on here saying it at the time as well so it wasn’t just revisionism) and that Maguire largely won it because the novelty of him being new and him being a different type of defender that we’d had in a while, being more of a ball player than Morgan and Huth.

Jeez, last 20 winners I thought we'd be going back to Walsh, Heskey etc  .😭

Not just me then...

Although Walsh only left in 2000, so we're not that far out

Tunchev was way above our level wasn't he, shame he had troubles with injuries.

I was convinced he would take us back to the Prem if it wasn't for the injuries. Superb player.

It was like watching a 30 year old playing against a load of 7 year olds. The level was far, far, far beneath him. And he didn't lose headers (could do with him now perhaps lol).

Absolutely gutted injuries ruined it for him (and us).
