"I cut my energy bill by ditching kettle for £40 device that boils water for a brew in 30 seconds"

Aka buy this product if you are too stupid to understand that only boiling the amount of water you need saves money.

Love how they cannot calculate the cost saving with "claims".

Do a journalism degree, end up producing this shite.

His "reports" were largely meaningless journalistic drivel.

Maybe he's moved on to other things?

Or just given up.

Still there. Seems he's contracted to mention fast food in every story.

Why is every other story on there at the minute about Emmerdale? What's going on with the world.

April's gone missing spreading the word

And Dunelm advertising, as well as the guy rating food outlets.

It makes the Daily Mail look like a credible news outlet.

Just want to read some news about Leicester and the county we live in and all I'm seeing is news about Kim Tate's son or Who's going to be revealed so and so's baby's Dad.

Up to 95% off designer coats cries the website.

Bulls4it alert.

The lowest priced coat listed is £25 and I don't think it or any other coat mentioned were originally over £500. Surely this is misleading advertising if no coats are at a 95% discount?

I discovered 4 editions of the Leicester Mercury from the 1980s whilst sorting through some boxes at home.

I went retro and read them at the table whilst having some tea and also when sitting in the lounge - just like my dad used to. :)

Made a change from glancing at my phone.

Anyway, there was loads to read, local news of course, some national news, sport, even looked through the 'Miscellaneous Sales and the 'Hatched, Matched and Dispatched columns too.

Really highlighted how news reporting and the way it is done, has deteriorated on a local level

It's not just a local level. You'd find similar changes anywhere in the country.

The industry gave news away for free online. People got used to it. People stopped paying. The industry has no money to invest. The industry declines in quality.

Its like the old saying isn’t it?

Good, Fast and Cheap, you can only have two.

Most things now, are fast and cheap. Social media did that to the world.
