We aren’t the people who pay for this if you’re referring to ticket holders. It’s broadcast that pays for this circus

This one is not due to broadcast, it is due to the PL's player welfare. Fulham play Saturday 15:00 so to give 3 days rest it has to be played on the Tuesday or later.

The way the bank holidays/weekends have fallen is not ideal.

But agreed, the broadcasters have most of the say in any fixtures as they are the ones controlling who fills the TV slots.

Brilliant, Fulham is another home game I will miss.

ST has been an utter waste of money.

Same for me x2. The resale platform really needs to allow more than 3 resales per season for matches that get moved like this. It's getting more and more difficult to follow the club. Depressing.

When was this announced? Was it brought in for this season?

Think so, after many teams were messed around in previous seasons. They've removed one game from that time of year, too.

Not happy about the Fulham game being moved.

First day back and having to drag myself down for an evening kick off is abysmal.

I can’t imagine Fulham are impressed either.

Also shows how outdated the broadcasting model is in this country. Game is moved from a kick off time that suits most to one that requires holiday to be taken and possibly hotel stays. Those who cannot go cannot legally watch the match in this country.

I appreciate that this is due to recovery time but come on, fans pay fortunes both inside and outside the ground and aren't getting a modern, open service.

Literally the only positive out of it is the notice they've given. Two months.

Problem with this it’s a double edged sword. It’s obviously counter intuitive that games like this aren’t on tv anywhere in the host country.

But this, and the strong dollar, is why the Americans are moving in to the PL in numbers. There’s so much potential. The nfl generates so much more revenue than the PL, despite it having a fraction of the global reach, and the yanks want growth now. They want to open up broadcast and merchandise opportunities here and that starts with broadcasting every match. Imo that leads to the death of the lower leagues and matchday fans, frequent global tours, all star games and franchise clubs. Long story short I’m happy every game isn’t on tv!!

Also can't even listen to local BBC radio broadcast commentary unless within a short transmitter range.

I reckon they are waiting for the Carabao Cup 3rd Round and European qualifications to be finished before confirming the rest of the Januay fixtures. They will also be looking to rearrange some of the games cancelled (e.g. the weekend of the Queen's death).

Four of the first nine home games are midweek evening kicks offs.

That's so poor.  I try to take my daughter to as many games as possible but evening midweeks during schooltime just don't work.  If they're going to move games to mid-week they should broadcast them somewhere at least.  Christ knows there's enough different options with SKY/BT?Amazon etc.  It's not like Leicester v Fulham is going to detract from viewing figures for the rich six.

European qualifications shouldn't be a problem - playoff round not until February.

It will be the FA Cup Draw what complicates it - end of November for that. Their broadcasting schedule has February fixtures for announcement on 6th December - wouldn't surprise me if they wait until then. Either way they are going to have to be 'fluid' as there is no perfect time to announce it.

Carabao Cup draw for the Quarters (played 10th January) won't be known until a week before Christmas.

I think it is more about which English teams will be in some sort of matches in Europe during February. For example, Arsenal, if they win their group, their next European game is March. If they finish 2nd, they play in February. That limits the options to play catch up games (Arsenal have 2). Also, re Carabao Cup, I know there is another round before then, but if some teams are knocked out at this stage, it might enable a catch up game to be played w/c 9th January, thus freeing up other midweeks further down the line.

Don't think the FA Cup matters at this stage as all PL teams are involved early Jan. All guessing though...

Do you mean LCFC.COM? If so, it's not broadcast to watch. However, it does have live commentary which is the platform of last resort.

Ahh I see what you mean. I stream free but no firesticks or anything, just to my mobile phone which I watch it from (and can theoretically cast to it)

Makes me laugh how often they use the excuse of something like a cup draw to know which games to move. Well then pick your TV announcement dates around those events which you already know are occurring.

With Man Utd finishing 2nd in their EL group, they go into the playoffs, and their first leg game is on 16th February. So our game with them will be moved from 18th Feb most likely to 19th...

I can deal with a Manchester away day on Sunday.

Nottingham Forest away and Brighton at home in January both not selected for TV.

Very surprised Forest away isn't on TV.
