Best I've managed so far, won on penalties against Argentina 2014 in the semis and lost the final 2-1 against West Germany

Just tried by memory- a lot more challenging 

 

Won the group- 3 wins, 11 scored, 0 conceded... lost to 1978 Scotland in the last 16. Unacceptable.

I'm losing my mind, I rolled Messi but couldn't play him as I had Maradona there, so it was El Hadji Diouf, pretty similar players imo!

lost the final to 1982 Germany again, this time on pens

After about 8 goes. I had better teams which lost some really random matches after dicking the group, like Pele, Bobby Moore et al. apparently losing 3-1 to Poland from 1982.

Had Beckenbauer, Cruyff, Messi and Ballack but once again lost to Germany in the final 😂
