We may also have appearance related payments still to pay, but that’s just a guess.

Absolutely terrible signing. Have no idea what the scouting team saw in him.  Countless other options in the 30 million and cheaper price range that year we signed him that would have been much better.

Mutual terminations do happen, such as Aubameyang at Arsenal. But do we value him so little that we'd be happy to forego a transfer fee? Makes no sense he's still a valued squad member.
