Think it depends on whats meant by "concerned"

Im concerned the season could be a damp squib with a mid table finish and not a lot to get excited about, sure.

But not anything beyond that.

We could easily be pushing for a european place if everyone stays fit.

Big advantage is we have a team that knows how to with each other play. I noticed that the commenters mentioned Hull were disorganized the other day because they had 6 new signings that had never played together.... touchwood Spurs

I think a large part of our season rests on Daka to really catch fire. Can’t see a world where Vardy doesn’t spend half the season injured now.

Plugging the glaring holes at the back (set pieces/GK) will go a long way in improving the season. Personally resetting the record on Rodgers to see if the improvements have been made.

To finish in the top 6 you need to score 60+ goals a season  ..its down to how well  we defend as to where we will finish in the table.

ive heard of players setting themselves targets as to how many goals they should score in a season. My guess is  Vardy 15+, Maddison 10, Daka 10, Barnes 10,Ineahacho 8,Tielemans 6, KDH 6,  (Fofana,Justin,Ricardo,Evans,Castagne,Soyuncu between them)10..even if some fall short of that , i still think we will reach that 60

Why's that?

"I'm concerned we may be relegated, we've not signed anyone,we've got no money". All the imagined conspiracy theories about the manager. Lighten up FFS. Football is supposed to be entertainment.

Lighten up FFS. Oh the irony! lol

It's quite normal on a football forum to want to discuss the current affairs of the club. You don't have to comment if it doesn't interest you

Not much, to be honest.

The main ones could be another injury-hit season and not playing to the team's strengths.

I’ve said this now a few times. If we keep our first teamers mostly fit, I think we’ll have a good season.
But the ‘squad’ is not strong. If we have to replace Maddison with Perez, Ndidi with Soumare, and heaven forbid, Evans or Little Wes with Amartey or Vestie.. a good team becomes a bang average team very quickly.

We saw it last season. As soon as we got Fofana and Vardy back we went on a lovely run at the end of the season and finished 8th

There was a point on here though last season when we were shipping so many goals that some views were that we would be nearer relegation!

Very strong first team, bang average squad. UNLESS the second stringers pick up this season. Eg Perez, Cags and Soumare.

Its clear as day to me. Based on injuries (having them or not having them) we could end up top 6/7 OR nearer the bottom.

Actually reminds me a little bit of the summer post Watford semi final. Was a very mute summer and was quite a few question marks going into the first game v Middlesbrough

In answer to the question, no. The two facets to our situation at the moment which are a nagging doubt though.

1) Newcastle and Villa have potential to surpass now. Newcastle in particular have a chance to create the new era of the ‘seven sisters’ ala mid 90s Serie A. Financially we are our max and this year there is no success or major sell to make it up.

2) I’m fairly convinced that Colwill joins us, even more so with Palace’s latest signing and other suitors now spent up. We just need someone to take the bait on one of our CBs. However it’s if Youri goes late into the window and we don’t have the replacement lined up. If Praet and Soumare go as well, that leaves us light of quality and numbers in that position. Internally we’ve got to have a cut off point where certain players are off the market.

Not convinced by Villa or SG, however Newcastle have enough money that they will succeed at some point.

Can't see use letting those 3 go without one in, like you say I think we will have a cut of point.

Honest think add a quality RWer and add a CB and Youri replacement we could challenge for European spots.

Some of you lot need to find a hobby outside of football.

It'd be easier coming from someone not posting this on a football forum lol

What... you know that means we had a hard 3/4 of a season than most then don't you. We all played the same teams FFS.

It's not as simple as that.Bookies and every one else knows that certain run ins or starts can have a big affect on finishing positions depending on where you are in the league and who you have to play. For instance two teams in a religation scrap, one has the top three teams to play and the other mid to end table opposition at the end of the season. Guess which one the bookies say are going down? Our finishing position of eight was in keeping with the opposition we had to play aginst in those last few games. Had we have had any of the top four it most certainly would not have been 8th.

I take some of these points but I’d like to think he has learnt from them. The fact is, he’s never had the chance to learn. He made some of these mistakes at Liverpool but was sacked before he could put them right. We’ve given him another pre-season with a fully fit squad up in the French alps and I think that’ll make the world of difference. I am a glass half full guy. It’s just in my nature. We’ll be fine!

We were leaking silly goals from set pieces from the very start of the season right up until the end. Had had all season and obviously had no idea how to remedy it. That's a hell of a long time to learn basic mistakes at the back , particulally the awful zonal marking rubbish tactics. They never worked but he stuck with them.

It was our joint 4th best PL season by they way.

I'd take that again.

Well if you are happy taking the 8th then fine. But I thought our owners said they wanted European football on a regular basis and made Rogers one of the best paid in the prem to ensure that. Being happy with 8th is I'm sure not in the owner's mind set. So let's see if we can finish in the top six with no European football to hamper us. If not then he's not up to the job.

So if he finishes 7th and we have made no new signings, you think they are going to move him on?

There is a reason they are “easier” opponents to face at the end of the season though and that is because all 3 were poor for all/the majority of the season

It is reasonable to think if we had played those games earlier that we still could have picked up maximum points

No, we just need to to accept that it may be a fairly average finish by recent standards, and look forward to a mini rebuild once we run down the contracts of the average squad players, possibly cash in on one of the big names.

Reminds me of the long hot summer of 1976, when they didn't sign or sell anyone and the exact same side started the new season as finished 1975-76 ..... and they did alright but the fans moaned and the club sacked Jimmy Bloomfield.   And replaced him with Frank McClintock.

Be careful what you wish for😳😳

I think we’ll finish between 10th and 14th. Don’t understand this logic of if everyone stays fit we’ll challenge top 6. No side has everyone fully fit.

There is a in between isn't there, it not about everyone staying fit at the same time!

I think it will help not having European games but we’ll stick pick up injuries. As a lot have already stated our starting line up is very good but it’s the options off the bent which isn’t great.

It not bad when we have 80% of the squad fit.

How may team outside the big 6 have 4 fullback as good as Ricardo, Castange, Justin and Thomas.

How many have 3 strikers like Vardy, Nacho and Daka?
