I thought we looked good throughout, granted PNE were better in 2nd half but let’s be honest they couldn’t have been any worse,, as they were absolute shite in the 1st half but only because we didn’t give them a second.

I liked our shape and the intent to press high and play on the front foot is a lot more positive. If our finishing had been more ruthless we would and could have scored 6 or 7.

Whole team played well but real positives for me were Justin who looks back to speed, Barnes who tore them to shreds at every opportunity and special mention to Soumare who looks a different player, hopefully this is the player we signed and his upturn in form will see him stay and hopefully push on as he showed some signs of being a real player.

I took my 4 year old for her first game today, and she loved it - which I’m relieved about as thought doing so was a big risk. Bit of a challenge as she was under the impression she could play on the pitch.

She was also very happy being on the front row that the players and Brendan came to say thank you at the end - never underestimate how important that is for children and bringing that next generation through. The staff at Preston were also very welcoming. A good advert all round.

Ahh bless. Great to hear she enjoyed it.

In the last two games he’s shown he can be good enough. If he played like this last season then whilst he wouldn’t be first team, no one would be on his back.

He’s been in the main team for the last two matches whereas Youri hasn’t. Will be interesting to see if that’s the case come match day one as Youri was MOTM earlier for sure. Brentford would be a good tester game for him though, especially as they no longer have Eriksen.

I know there was a "main" team at PNE, but today didn't feel like Brendan's first pre-season, when there was a clear demarcation between the haves and the have nots in his double bill.

This seemed more along the lines of trying out two different formations, with players somewhat picked on that account.

I guess one benefit of not signing any new places is that you have been working with the same players for longer and should know their strengths and weaknesses and how to fit them together in various formations. Well you would expect so 😀

Brilliant. Love reading things like this.

Went to Preston today, first time I've been there for years.

What a fabulous ground, a real proper football ground & has floodlight pylons. Wonderful view from the Bill Shankley Kop, it would be great if they got promoted.

Also we played some very good football, although I thought we looked shaky in defence at times & would have been punished by a better side. We definitely need Tim in the team

Seems more like the football we played during our best periods in 19/20 and 20/21.

KDHs passing was next level i agree with the comments about him and England. I'd  put £5 on him captaining both leicester and England.

Last of the big spenders 😉

Time will tell, but she wants to play for Jamie Vardy’s team so that’ll do nicely!

Rochester? Lol

The metaphorical rebuild is real.

If we ain't in for a flamboyant South American negotiated with cocaine money then we're a ship with no wheel.

Finished last season off strong, getting written off by all sundry. Feels quite familiar.
A few young players could easily step up a gear. Barnes, Justin, Fofana and KDH. Daka could be a surprise. We aren’t necessarily in bad shape.

Yeah, just having the players back that were missing a lot last season like fofana, Ricardo, Justin, Ndidi will be a boost. Maddison is back to his best too, we actually are fine, KDH looks some player as well.
