davieG Posted 26 July 2022 Posted 26 July 2022 More clickbait https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-newcastle-united-and-leicester-city-in-race-to-sign-ludovic-ajorque/ Sources: Newcastle United and Leicester City in race to sign Ludovic Ajorque Newcastle United, Leicester City and Crystal Palace are plotting moves for Strasbourg striker Ludovic Ajorque, sources have told Football Insider. The 6ft 5in forward, 28, is a target for a number of clubs across Europe after impressing last season in Ligue 1. The French club’s president Marc Keller has given intermediary, Mark McKay, the mandate to sell the player to interested parties. The forward currently has two years left on his contract at Strasbourg. Ajorque joined the Ligue 1 club in 2018 from top-flight French side Clermont Foot for a fee of around £2million. Newcastle, Leicester and Palace are all keen to bolster their attacking options before the close of the transfer window and they are aware that Ajorque is keen on a move to the Premier League.

EnderbyFox Posted 26 July 2022 Posted 26 July 2022 If we are looking at really lanky strikers then I'd rather we went after Lorenzo Lucca - He's younger & much better on FM 3

Still amazing at 35 too. Gerrim signed up Brendan, should be relatively cheap from Pisa
urban.spaceman Posted 26 July 2022 Posted 26 July 2022 Definitely a Newcastle signing. Purely because if he's shit his name in Geordie sounds like "a joke". 2
Stadt Posted 26 July 2022 Posted 26 July 2022 I really rate this bloke, not happening though. Rodgers is too dogmatic to sign a targetman and has said as such
jayfox26 Posted 26 July 2022 Posted 26 July 2022 6ft5 striker? Can he play centre back? Or we could chuck him and vestergaard on when we're losing and go peak Burnley! 1
Brainy Posted 26 July 2022 Posted 26 July 2022 Rather sign James Beattie. He's still at Southampton isn't he? 1

foxpleasure Posted 26 July 2022 Posted 26 July 2022 When I read this I decided to Google who was the tallest active player. Should have realised it would be a goalkeeper. I reproduce the details without comment.... 1. Simon Bloch Jorgensen – 6.8 feet The Danish keeper began his career at Boldklubben in 1893, a Danish second division side after spending his youth career at Frem and FC Copenhagen. He then moved to Boldklubben 1908 and from there, to Frem before taking his talents to Accrington Stanley. Jorgensen is currently donning the jersey as a goalkeeper for Waltham Abbey in England, a team that plays in the Southern League One Division Central. He is not only the tallest active football player but also the tallest-ever player to take the field in a professional capacity

That’s according to Sky Sports News who state that Everton, Leicester City, West Ham United, Fulham, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Newcastle United are all said to be monitoring the 6ft 6in Frenchman. Wolves are desperately trying to add to their forward ranks following the injury to star striker Raul Jimenez but as it stands, they will be going into the opener against Leeds United with zero recognised strikers. Fabio Silva, who was originally expected to fight for a first-team berth this season has been loaned out to Anderlecht and with Jimenez on the medical table - Hwang Hee-chan or Pedro Neto will likely deputise as the main forward. Ajorque is said to be available for around £18million but with the number of clubs keen to land his signature, that price could easily rise. What’s been said? Speaking via Sky Sports News’ Transfer Centre - Kaveh Solhekol said: “A player who we could be hearing a lot more from in the next couple of weeks played against Liverpool for Strasbourg at the weekend. “He’s a striker called Ludovic Ajorque, 6ft 6in striker with a very good scoring record for them, is available for £18m. “I’m told the clubs that watched him yesterday were Wolves, Everton, Leicester, West Ham, Fulham, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Newcastle. He’s someone we might be hearing a lot more from.”
