Just out of interest... Is there, like an official name for the designated "conductor" of these singing sections?

There's a dude at the bottom of SK1 next to the drummer who spends most of his time very animated and facing up the stand encouraging the rest of the group.

You see it a lot on the continent.

Yeah, it's "capo". Italian origin, naturally.

I wonder if they're organising for when they move to the new stadium.

Comments under that tweet seem to suggest Everton were working closely with them to organise more of the such

Incredible really when you see what's happening a few hours up the road in Scottish grounds.

Have to say I have little time for pyro inside stadiums, unless its in a controlled environment, and this type of thing (if linked with ultras) doesn't help the cause south of the border.

I understand what you're saying though pyro is everywhere in scotland.  No-one seems to do anything, the police blame the clubs, clubs blame the police and it carries on, they don't seem to have the same structure as far as policing/stewarding games north of the border.

I had a chat once with someone that was involved protesting a rule where clubs could be punished for their bad behaviour..i forget what it's called...but i believe we have it here but scotland doesn't, maybe others might know more.  And is another reason why clubs don't really enforce any rules like they do here.

Feel it's been a poor year for the English fan scene in terms of the "active" groups. Palace and Boro have been relatively quiet and seen a lot of criticism of both online. Boro did do a cool display against Sunderland with fireworks behind the stand which was a first here. Ipswich have been quiet for their most high profile season in god knows how long. UFS quieter than the last couple of seasons admittedly too.

Other than that the rise of "groups" which are essentially just a go fund me page and a twitter account is on the rise, Villa being the worst offenders this season.

Yep Villa, Notts F and Newcastle thinking they're great. Villa running a printed tifo that effectively amounted to an advert for ozzy osbourne a new low. But all their vapid fans lapped it up of course.

Yeah things seem a lot worse than they were, i suppose its not surprising we all know what english fans are up against.  Even if they weren't oppressed at every turn i wonder if there's a real appetite for it in England?.

But it's great to see it thriving north of the border, I expect that to continue, the scottish clubs seem much more open to it and see it as a great way to attract new fans.

I expect great things in the scottish ultra scene over the next decade, practically every top division club already has a group, and all seem to be growing.

The numbers Union Bears had at last nights away game were massive.

Yeah, every season their section seems to grow especially away from home, maybe its easier to congregate with them at away games?.  Another thing is that scottish fans don't seem to care that much about their exact seat numbers expecially with the clubs who take large away numbers, they'd be outcry in england if someone was sitting in your seat but in scotland they just move somewhere else.

The whole attitude is different, i always thought it was a cultural thing with the british fans and the rest of the world, that clearly isn't true, i've now concluded its very much an english thing, we are unigue, which usually is a great thing but in the case of football culture and atmosphere that uniqueness has destroyed it.

Loved Barrow's effort last night v Carlisle.

'panic in the streets of Carlisle' - reference their potential relegation to non-league. Although they won 1-0 lol

Mad that it's a 'local derby', 90 min, 80+ miles between grounds. Be like our closest rival being Oxford United.

Rangers. Not even sure what this means.

Woke foreign ideologies = bad, but we must defend Europe?

Yeah strange message. A very British attempt at a far right banner.

I don't quite understand the charge.

Quote

"Firstly, the club has been charged by Uefa after a handful of supporters displayed what Uefa describe as a “racist and/or discriminatory banner”

Who is that banner actually discriminating against? Was it aimed at Fenerbahce?

Shows the danger of mispunctuation. Should actually have read "Keep woke foreign ideologies. Out defend Europe." It was celebrating wokeism while also offering encouragement to their back four
