I am only the messenger.   Anyone that has read my posts will know I don't pretend to be in the know.   I was told today by a guy who said he is in the know that the club are in dire financial difficulty.   Apparently 250 million in debt that has been hidden.   Allegedly the club have taken out a huge loan against assets including 20% of TV rights and if it goes tits up then we have agreed to pay parachute payments against the loan..... Before somebody comes back with oh a, friend of a friend of a friend... I am just saying what I have allegedly been reliably told.... I can take a slating but be prepared to eat humble pie if its correct bacause if it is then I expect it to hit the news in the next few weeks...genuinely hope I am wrong but I have my fears...ties in with KP not even sponsoring us anymore...

Of all the crap I've read here this takes the biscuit.

Nuclear grade bullsh1t.

And as much as I like pies I won't be eating humble.

Was this guy who told you about 4 feet tall with chapped lips and an Irish accent by any chance?

With what looked to be roughly £250m in his pocket

This does kind of make sense. I'm guessing most prem clubs are in huge debt, they just get round it because every year there's £100m plus coming in and various other things. It would.make sense that after a huge outlay on seagrave and then last year's transfer debacle, we are trying not to spend this year, and we might be in a bit of trouble. Thing is £250m in modern football is absolutely nothing at all. We could get £130-140m for Fofana and Maddison for example, we have an incredible training base that is worth a fortune, we would be seen to be good for the debt.

Not saying the post is anything other than pub talk, but Isn’t king power a private company? Moving £250m leverage off the books wouldn’t be that hard materiality wise in Thailand I’d assume…? Obvs if it’s in relation to the club then total rubbish

I don’t think the post referenced King Power Group. Even still I’d be surprised if a company of that size and stature (which is also backed by the government) were fraudulently accounting.

We sold a fridge freezer for £80m not too long ago. I doubt we'd be in that much debt

We spent most of that last summer on a giant moron, his left back mate and two league 1 players

The 250m of debt thing  was being spread around by completely knowledgeless Chelsea fans earlier in the week, just something that goes Chinese whisper-style around the net until so many have mentioned it, it must be true. As others have said, nothing in a club's finances can be hidden these days.

Sounds to me like the sums add up to the infrastructure loans on the training ground and the stadium extension.

I don’t doubt club finances are probably tighter than we and it would wish, not helped by our failure to ship out any big ticket players so far but making a mountain out of a well communicated  mole hill is simply alarmist headlines.

If this is even half true, the board should be on their way out tomorrow morning. They’ve failed considerably.

I don’t actually believe it to be true. I believe there has been mismanagement but not to this extent.

I have a feeling king power may be selling up would make sense in the lack lister attitudes and ppl wanting to leave, kasper also said he wouldn't like to see anyone but kP run lcfc I think there's something in that and why he left so suddenly

There has been a major overreaction to the “finances”….

Its probably more like, we’ve not got Europe, wasted millions last window, have an over inflated wage bill. It doesn’t help having a ball bag as a manager who wants to sign shit like Ryan Bennett and Bertrand.

Thats probably why the owners aren’t wanting to invest in Brendan at the moment.

I don’t think he did leave suddenly. Seemed on the cards from the end of last season.

Let's flirt with that idea. If we were sold together with the existing and proposed infrastructure then that would attract an almighty bidding war from multi billionaire's and a war chest of cash to boot for players etc. I don't buy it personally.
