sylofox Posted 5 September 2022 Posted 5 September 2022 Personally think we should wait for a new manager. Could be a big mistake. 4

It’s harsh but he’s got less than a year left, he isn’t signing a new contract so you have to move him on and hope faes is the dogs and stays fit, we do have backups as well even if they’re pretty bad.

Arriba Los Zorros Posted 5 September 2022 Posted 5 September 2022 FFS this would be so stupid, we're short in this area and he does have potential to be a top player. 1
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 5 September 2022 Posted 5 September 2022 I think we're trying to get relegated at this point. 1

It would be, but no chance Brendan will play him. So if we aren’t getting rid of Brendan then I’m sure Cags will be off 1

Hales Posted 5 September 2022 Posted 5 September 2022 I wonder if Rodgers went then he would change his mind and want to stay. I like Cags and it's sad to see his lack of form, confidence and isolation. I would rather keep Cags than Brendan! 1

The assumption here from everyone else, that the only reason he won't sign a new contract is his personal issue with Rodgers, seems driven more by a desire to have another pop at Rodgers than anything concrete AFAICS He may just be desperate to leave us/PL, or specifically be all over the idea of starting again in Turkey. He may have been an absolute troll and burnt his bridges with a lot more people at the club than Brendan. If it's not just personal emnity then we'd potentially be foregoing a decent chunk of cash, a reduction in the wage bill and saddling a new manager with a pain in the arse til January.

I’m not even sure if we’ve offered him one tbh so no assumptions from me. His form did dip when he linked with other clubs but I get the feeling the thing between him and Rodger’s runs deeper than his performances. Rodger’s did point to a strategy the club are taking, maybe they’ve decided the best way to get shot of a player is to freeze them out the squad, who knows.
Bergen fox Posted 5 September 2022 Posted 5 September 2022 No chance the club sanction this when Rodgers is about to get the axe 🪓 1
FoxesWalk Posted 5 September 2022 Posted 5 September 2022 Surely we would need to replace him? A couple of okay centre backs on free transfers that we could register
STEVIE B Posted 5 September 2022 Posted 5 September 2022 There's a decent player in there somewhere. Keep him. He's obviously out of favour right now. A new manager could work wonders. 4
