Good points. :appl:Although previous posts are not a bone of contention, and I don't think @superhorns was being contentious, just pointing out a fact.

Fair point about coverage of other events - they soon get taken down from the internet ASAP .

I just thought it was a bit harsh and probably tricky to cut down all that coverage to an hour .

I agree we probably don’t need to see most of it again and much is private like the vigils and close ups of people upset  but the funeral could be seen as of historic public importance.

Doesn't work embeded, but just search YouTube for most of the Olympics stuff. Not making a point, just sharing as I've rewatched bits over the years.

Death certificate gives cause of death as old age and time as 15:10.

I still think she had died before the broadcasts started on our screens. It sounds so much better to be able to say she died surrounded by her family, when in reality she probably either died in her sleep, fell over one of her corgis, or died in the bathroom like so many people do.

If I die from tripping over a corgi, I do hope the police get involved as I don’t have a dog

But do you have any toy cars?

Nope, but then I didn't say it did. Just an opinion in response to the post I quoted saying it has been recorded that she died at 15:10

No it doesn’t

I was told that it was imminent just before 3pm - I don’t think it was much of a secret

BUT  Downing Street announced the following morning that the PM had been informed just before 4:30 pm …….. why on earth bother to lie about something like this.  Do they really have to spin the timings to avoid the public being upset that they had to wait several hours to be told ?

I’m no fan of Labour or the Lib Dems. However, this administration (and the one before) is absolutely rotten.

the next eighteen months can’t pass quickly enough ……

It was probably around the time quoted why would they lie? there was reports going around from like 3pm from hospital staff so it's not exactly out of the realms of reality.

Exactly …..why lie. No one is going to believe that the PM waited 80 minutes to be told ……

They lie because that's the hallmark of this government.

It would be a fitting end to a crazy year in public life, if 2022 ended with Paddington Bear being beheaded for treason on Tower Hill....
