Last thing we need is Rodgers going to a relegation rival and steering them clear before the passion sets in. What a perfect narrative for him.

I’d say that’s low on the list of priorities and is a bit of distance from being the last thing we need.

Rodgers is on borrowed time, if we can get rid without severance then we should take it. If someone will pay us to take him, then it’s a lottery win.

There are plenty of games left, with a decent squad. If we get them set up right to not be an issue what other teams are doing.

The last thing we need, is Rodgers sticking around and limping along like a wounded animal.

I'm not convinced we'd let him go or that he'd want to go. Villa are a biggish club but their owners are a bit of an unknown. Plus Rodgers is very comfortable here.

Ain’t that the truth…..

It would be the most farcical story in football history if Rodgers was to leave us bottom of the league to go to Villa….. and a true sign that he has the football media world’s balls cupped in his little hand.

Don't need anymore signs

Lennon has a higher win % at celtic than BR did and one of them is seem as elite and the other bargain bin.

This is surely a wind up. Most supporters do not believe that at all.

...I  should clarify that, most people outside of the club, that is supporters of other clubs, believe we are lucky to have him!!!

Away from  Foxestalk, our supporters  pretty much think the same.

Rodgers would improve Villa short term which is what they need and he would have more money to spend and the potential to improve his own reputation so if an offer came in I reckon he'd probably take it.

Short term benefit for us, we've had any player improvements we were going to have in the main and his rhetoric recently shows he's overstayed his welcome.  One downside if he goes to Villa would be that he'd have no issue with raiding our team for talent, especially where particular players are BR loyalists.  And I'd hate to see Madders in a Villa shirt.

Me too, but when he leaves it won't be for a team like Villa. He's destined for a top 6 side

Apart from clubs fanbases he has previously been at state otherwise.

I thought you meant Rodgers at first lol

Ha ha.   No, I have a feeling he starting to tarnish his reputation now and very small pockets of the media are starting (or have in isolated articles) to question Todger's brilliance..Dont get me wrong he is still a media darling to the majority, but  I don't think he'll  come out of this situation as unscathed as he has in the past, so it will be a while let before he gets a sniff at a top 6 job

Maybe at one time but not a chance he will get a top 6 team now.

Chelsea went with Potter who has achieved nothing if you compare achievements on paper with Rodgers.

The thing with gerrard is that he is obsessed with playing 1 system.  The players at villa didn’t fit the system and even more bizarrely the ones he signed didn’t either.

He did very well at rangers when they had the right guys to make a 4123 work.

The first big issue was having ings and watkins, ings probably suited the 1 striker but watkins was seen as an alround better player but the issue is watkins doesn’t score goals. that system needs a pure goal scorer.  the next big problem is that the next best 2 players were both 10s, buendia and coutiniho, he asked them both to play as wingers but neither have the pace to bring true width.

At rangers he had kent, who was perfect for that role.  Then at cm villa had a good dm in luiz but for the 8’s you need a bit of creativity, ramsey isn’t bad but john mcginn isn’t that type of player, he’s just industrious… but this system needs a youri not a runner.

all the villa fans were desperate to switch to a 4231 and play to the strengths they have … but gerrard was adamant to stick to his system.

A rigid manager like that is always going to fail. You need to adapt to what you have. The signings were just lazy. He thought digne would be his tavernier, bringing goals and assists but the reality is that digne was always overrated and a bit of scouting would show exactly why he flopped at everton.

i’m not saying i’m a tactical mastermind… but villa switch to a 4231 with ings as the striker and they are 3-0 up at half time
