Surely we are a bigger club than Villa now???!!

I can't remember Villa winning anything in the last 20 years

(My position may change if we don't beat Wolves)

Gerrard would turn us around and be good for 18 months, like wise Roger's at Villa. Only a few managers are good long-term.

We have literally no evidence to support this. He’s been absolute dog shite with a very good squad practically since he turned up.

Now is the time to poach him. He will actually do a decent job there for at least 18 months (sadly), and i think press and punditry will actually feel a little sorry for us, which suits me just fine as we get someone much better in. Do it Villa, you know you wanna!

Very few managers get to prove themselves nowadays and are sacked during a wobble.

Of the 20 managers in the premiership 13 have been at their clubs for under a year, 2 for 2yrs and only 5 for more than 3yrs with Pep and Klopp out front with 6/7yrs

It’s a very tenuous link, but presumably Villa would have to buy him out here? Anyone know the clause we have on him? Or is it as simple as paying up his contract? 🤔

For what he's done for us the honorable thing for us to do would be let him go for free.

Doesn’t sound like they want him. Considering all those paragraphs and all he gets is ‘Brendan Rodgers is another candidate.’ 😂

He is the fall back option. If they don’t get the manager they really want.

They won’t get the manager they really want cannot see Amiron, Pochettino or Emery going there. Rodgers is there best bet :D

It would be crazy to get rid just as we see a bit of form

Sorry What?

Form ? we beat a sh1t Leeds team and suddenly we are on the mend. Thursday was a carbon copy of Forest  and we all saw what happened the following matches.

Come back if we have 6 (or 7 at a push) points by 7:30pm on the 5th Nov.  That would just about hint at a bit of form growing

Sounds like his name has just been chucked into the hat there. I can’t see it happening.

I agree. Seems like the normal paper talk that pops up when a manager is sacked. Villa would never get a Pep or a Poch, to go there, I'm surprised Dyche wasn't tossed in the list as well.

Dublin on football focus throwing the big club tag around with Villa and them needing a big club manager, then mentioned Dyche and Rafa.

Nah, their owners are absolutely minted, bigger stadium and situated in a much larger city. We've got alot going for us and our structure is better but they're definitely competitive with us.

Gerrard has done nowt at Vanilla besides we've got a manager.

Don't see us letting him go to a team near us in the table.

We may not like it but the owners are fully in on the Rodgers project.

Not really. Villa is a very big club with a lot of potential and owners with money. This is a more than decent vacancy and there are enough good candidates out of a job for them to choose without having to pay us compensation for Brendan.  Close to less than zero chance he will be their next manager.

Not even nearly as big in a footballing context. Nine times out of ten, especially now, any manager chooses Villa.
