too many of our fans are too keen on this and making sure villa fans know it!

the crazy thing is that if they just give him  a three year deal on the same as he’s on here then they’ll do very well with him.

Maybe for the first year or two but then they will regress, with Rodgers it’s cyclical, we know his limitations. We just need to move on, if he goes to Villa it would be best for both parties.

Trouble is if he goes to Villa and we stuff up his replacement, he'll get Villa out of the shit, we go down and the media absolutely suck him off and point to all this being our fault and Brendan did all that could be expected given the circumstances (which he is in no way responsible for), we should never have let him go, careful what you wish for, reap what you sow, etc, etc.

On the other hand he could take them down. Here's hoping.

I was thinking about this but I reckon he needs a solid defence to be in place for maximum impact.

I think he'd so well but for a shorter period with a defence like villas.

Doesn’t sound like they want him. Considering all those paragraphs and all he gets is ‘Brendan Rodgers is another candidate.’ 😂

Hahaha its a very very weak link ain't it, like the most pitiful of dangling carrots for us to hold on to 😂😂😂😂

I skimmed the article three times before I spotted it. Wasn’t sure if the OP was being sarcastic haha

You just know that if they did approach us then we wouldn’t be able to help ourselves from demanding the full compensation and they’d go elsewhere !

on a lighter note, this is going ‘hot’ soon and there will be masses of disappointment from members clicking onto it!

Unpopular opinion but I dont think he'd be an awful choice for Villa. As we know he's a 18-24 month manager if he inherits a decent squad.

Its a Daily Mail article, they barely mention him and to top it all off the article is mainly about a completely different manager.

I think he would do very well at Villa in the first couple of years, much as he has done at most clubs he has managed, including with us. They could certainly do alot worse. I don't think he is a bad manager, I just think he is the type of manager where the players get bored of hearing the same message, because he isnt really a manager that wants to change his message, and his way of playing, and it all starts to go stale after a while. I think he is completely aware of that too, which is why he wanted to have a big freshen up in the summer.  The problem for him is, if you can't have that big freshen up of the Players, then even he has to change, and freshen up his ideas to the players, or he has to go, for that freshen up to happen at the club.

A friend who recons he’s in the Know ( ok yeah !!) as his sister works at Villa says Villa are putting a package together to tempt Rodgers away from Leicester, I said to that said friend I’m sure a few Leicester fans would chip into that package and offer to Drive Brendan Snout to Villa Park !😉

I'm not convinced we'd let him go or that he'd want to go. Villa are a biggish club but their owners are a bit of an unknown. Plus Rodgers is very comfortable here.

Gerrard would turn us around and be good for 18 months, like wise Roger's at Villa. Only a few managers are good long-term.

There is absolutely zero evidence to support this comment. Gerard has done well at one club and even then, it took him a while to get them going. Rangers showed decent loyalty to him in the early days when fans weren't happy. To suggest he would turn anyone around quickly is based on nothing that's actually happened.

This would be incredible, he would do a good job there for a couple of years as well.
