That could absolutely demoralize the US. They thought that they were doing well, passing it about nicely but it’s obvious that Netherlands were letting them! They were playing with them! Once piece of possession and BANG. Lovely goal

I wonder if the way forward to 2026 might be to hire a European manager who has that tournament experience and success, paired with an American coach who has rapport with the players.

 

That's asking a lot of USSF    But they have to get this one right.
